Setup Movie Trailer: Randy Couture Stars Along Side Bruce Willis, 50 Cent, and Ryan Phillippe
He's not shown much on the clip, but here's the red band movie trailer for Randy Couture's next film, 'Setup' starring Bruce Willis, 50 Cent, and Ryan Phillipe. It will be released straight to DVD and Blu-Ray this September. Here's the plot from imdb:
A group of friends plan out a detailed heist that turns deadly when one betrays the other by taking off with the goods. Taking matters into his own hands, Sonny seeks out his revenge teaming up with the most dangerous mob boss in town to get back what is rightfully his. When he finally comes face to face with his longtime friend he will be forced to make a life changing choice.
Couture will also be appearing on an upcoming movie 'Geezers!' with Tim Allen and J.K Simmons, which will be released in October. The retired mixed martial artist turned actor will also be working with a couple of films set to be released on 2012. He will start filming soon for a couple of movies currently in pre-production such as 'Hijacked' with Prison Break star, Dominick Purcell, and the sequel to his first major role, in Expendables 2.

Never saw him in Scorpion King
but he was sooooooooo awful in Expendables. Kind of confused as to how he keeps getting roles.
What everyone needs to do is calm down, take a deep breath, and prepare their bodies for the Thunderdome.

His performance on the Expendables was better than in Scorpion King, if you can believe that.
Sounded like he was just reading through the script the whole time. And I’ve always felt weird seeing him with a gun / sword.
I love rainbows, unicorns and chupa chups

I think the answer is that it’s a straight to DVD & BluRay release. Are there any good movies that went straight to video?

Love Chappelle but wouldn't call that movie good
Either way, Half Baked had a theatrical run back in 1998.

You're right, it wasn't good
It was AWESOME!

It was straight
If I had a choice between How High, Harold and Kumar (the first one) and Half Baked…I’d probably choose How High first and it’d be a toss up between Harold and Kumar and Half Baked. The pissing seen with Kumar and Jamie Kennedy cracks me up everytime! “so who made you king of the bushes…Huh!?”

definitely not straight to DVD.
I would know because I saw it Fully Baked in the theater(i know, lame joke).

Blood and Bone
was solid along with Undisputed 2 and 3 was ok. Better than most straight to dvd releases that I’ve seen. Straight to dvd “urban” movies are the worst, my gf loves that shit though.

Expendables was a good movie...
Action movie with good fight scenes and good special effects…. I could care less about the dialog or the plot. Throwback action flick and it did the job.
Dear Hollywood
In some future timeline, please make Randy Couture the old future version of Captain America.
Thank you
the captain will stay young forever if I’m not mistaken.

Yeah in the Marvel's 616(?) universe
but in an alternate Marvel Universe (the Multiverse) Captain America eventually ages and I think he even dies. It’s in a limited edition run called Earth X. It’s basically a dystopian Marvel future, pretty good.

I won't lie,
But I haven’t been impressed with Couture’s acting. But still one of my faves of all time.

They need someone to make the three headlining guys look like good actors
Seriously, I love the guy because he was good at fighting and I want my fighters to fight.
When I go to a movie, I want my actors to act, and he really does a terrible, terrible job. They can’t even typecast him like Rampage, who I think is a decent actor worth of the roles he gets.
Don't know what you guys are all smoking but...
I thought Randy’s performance in The Expendables was pretty good, he had me laughing, and in the good way!

50 cent is terrible in everything
probably the reason why this is straight to DVD.
Terrible in everything, and making bank like whoa
Dude knows a thing or three about economics and financials!
By everything
I meant anything not music related. I think all the movies he’s been in went straight to dvd.
cashing out 400 mill on a vitamin water deal is terrible, I want to be terrible to
the guy literary turned shit into gold

No, he didn’t. He figuratively turned shit into gold. If he did it literally, someone needs to start a religion with him as the god.

okay bashing on a guy that has English as his 3rd language
but my point is that he figuratively makes shit aka his music and makes so much money off it. His business venture has been profitable

is this the movie 50 lost all that weight for?
if i remember right he lost weight to play a role of i think a cancer patient. he looked the part too.

How is a Bruce Willis movie going straight to DVD?
by The so-called Beautiful on Aug 10, 2011 2:29 AM EDT reply actions
not sure.
Ryan Phillipe and Bruce Willis… seems to be too star studded for a straight to dvd release.

Hollywood accounting
It probably didn’t test very well and/or the studio had something to gain by writing it off.
Never approach a vast undertaking with a half-vast plan.
There was a film a few years back with Ryan Reynolds, Julia Roberts,
and Willem Dafoe that went straight to DVD, simply because of how it tested.

My thoughts exactly
Anderson Silva, Edson Barboza, Jose Aldo, Charles Oliveira, Thiago Alves = Muay Thai wrecking machines!
by SentientAndroid on Aug 10, 2011 9:37 AM EDT up reply actions
I'm guessing the decision was made post production
I mean, why pay fro Bruce Willis and Ryan Phillipe when they just could of hired Val Kilmer and Cuba Gooding Jr?
50 is surprisingly good actor
he actually out acted old fat De Niro and a borderline senil Pacino
by Mohammedini Hussein on Aug 10, 2011 3:48 AM EDT reply actions
They should have gotten Jason Stathem...
instead of Phillippe and completed the “somewhat attractive bald old men” trifecta.
A straight-to-DVD movie with Ryan Phillipe & Bruce Willis?? The home video market really is getting more big-budget.

I know a lot of people write-off Straight to DVD movies right away
but there has been some pretty solid ones in the last couple years. Give a young up and coming director that needs a shot a couple mil and a decent cast and see what happens. The Undisputed direct to video movies, the latest Universal Soldier with Arlovski, the DC and Marcel Comics films, all definitely didn’t suck. I’ll check this one out for sure.

Ya
That last Universal Soldier with Arlovski & Pyle was biggish budget and not a bad movie all in all.

Pretty funny that Randy wasn’t a big enough name to get mentioned in the trailer. I only saw him in one scene where he just stood there and looked tough for a second. Anyway, the movie looks like crap, won’t be watching this one.
