Che Mills vs. Chris Cope Scheduled for UFC 138
It appears that Che Mills will be passing up a scheduled BAMMA fight and has signed with the UFC. He will be facing TUF 13 semi-finalist Chris Cope at UFC 138 in Birmingham on November 5th.MMA Weekly received confirmation of the fight from Mills' manager:
His manager, Paul Hennessy of Showsport International, on Monday confirmed the fight to MMAWeekly.com.
"Che has signed a promotional agreement with Zuffa and a bout agreement to face Chris Cope on UFC 138."
Mills (13-4) had been expected to face Joey Villasenor at BAMMA 7 on September 10th, and there is still a fair amount of confusion about whether he is in fact contracted to the English promotion. He is currently on a four-fight winning streak, with his last win coming over Marcio Cesar at BAMMA 6 in May. Cope won his TUF 13 finale fight via unanimous decision over Chuck O'Neil to improve to 5-1 overall, and will be looking to continue his two-fight winning streak with a win over Mills.

Mills' manager and BAMMA going back and forth is pretty entertaining:
"Che Mills is under contract to BAMMA and is scheduled to fight Joey Villasenor at BAMMA 7. Che has not been and will not be released by BAMMA," Liam Fisher, head of business development for BAMMA, told MMAWeekly.com on Saturday.
Hennessy countered late Saturday night, telling MMAWeekly.com, "I can confirm that Che Mills is not under contract to BAMMA, he does not have a promotional agreement with BAMMA, and has not signed a bout agreement for BAMMA 7.
"I can also confirm the Che Mills will not be fighting on BAMMA 7."
I don't think UFC would dirty themselves with another Roy Nelson scenario if he was under contract
I’d be shocked if they did in this instance.

Most likely they agreed verbally to the fight but do not have a multi-fight agreement with Mills and have not signed for the bout as his manager claims. After consulting The Internet, Attorney At Law, I can tell you that if they had agreed to the opponent and the purse amount to be paid out, a verbal agreement would be binding in this instance.

UFC 138 is getting really good for a free card
A lot of fights I am very interested in seeing…but not fights that would exactly be pay per view worthy, which I suppose is the point.
Either way, I’m stoked for this card.

No, I've talked about how it was a very good free card before
But this was simply another one of those ’I’m really interested to see that’ kind of fight, I felt like mentioning it again.

You're only really going to get to see 5
Will the UFC do a Facebook card with the event airing on a delay?
I went whale watching the other day. I think. There were a lot of people in that lake.
Man I hope so.

As long as it gets Chris Cope and all his monkey shit antics the hell out of the UFC, great fight!
"I make boring, disgusting meals for Bellator fight nights."
I am not much of a fan of Chris Cope and his Ric Flair stealing ways, Woooooo! Chris Cope is not a UFC caliber fighter, Woooo! I have Che Mills winning this one, Woooo!

Literally the entire set of preliminary card fighters are probably not UFC caliber
Omigawa and Etim the exceptions.

This is one hell of a BAMMA event
I don’t know how they got Leben, Munoz, Njokuani, and Alves to sign-up!
Looks like the UFC is learning from 120 and giving many of their Brit fighters either an England vs. England matchup or guaranteed victories like Etim vs. Faalaoto.

Etim fight is obviously a tune up
it’s like he came back from the dead, he’ll need a gimme fight to shake that rust off.
What happened to him?
And how long has it been?
Let the fighters fight, let the referees ref, but dear God, don't let the judges judge.

Yeah, of course everyone knows it by now,
but Chris Cope will never cut it in the UFC. I ate my words when Matt Mitrione started putting on impressive performances, but still…Chris Cope will be a flop. IMO.

Not sure why
But I actually feel like Chris can do very well for himself. I feel like in this fight I’ll be watching and he’ll have improved a lot.

Mitrione also has the benefit of being in a very thin division. However, he has natural athleticism and power, and those two attributes have taken him very far early in his MMA career. Chris Cope has heart, but that’s about it.

Marquardt's first fight?
Joey vs Nate? Nate has a month left to get ready for it. I know it isn’t at MW but it is a decent opponent for outside the UFC.
