Sure hope Dominick got in on some of those mysterious locker room bonuses. $20K/$20K for the champ, number 1 fighter in his weightclass? Ouch.

How do you know when you are the most irrelevant champion in the UFC?

You have you after party at a club that was only popular in the 70s and for about 2 weeks when MGM first opened it up

Tito's reported pay for his fight against Hamill was $250K.

I'm sure

Rampage at UFC 92, Couture at UFC 129. I think if you have the PPV cut you get it no matter if your first fight on the card or main event. But at 450k win or lose I doubt Tito has it anymore.

I put Cruz’s pay up there because it was such a great gap between the two sums, but that seems to confuse some people. I was at no point arguing that Cruz should make more money than Tito. I was just asking if Tito really pulls the numbers for such a sum.

Because a guy who won his first fight since 2006 made 450k lol but seriously if you fight 3 times a year or so making the money they make is actually pretty good, add in the potential fight,ko or sub bonus, any locker room bonuses and sponsorship plus the fact they now have their medicals covered its a pretty good job.

by DCJon. on Jul 5, 2011 6:03 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Yeh but what if you’re a guy like G Sot. You win 7 in a row and are still getting paid 15k to show. He has fought twice this year taking 30k. Say he fights once more this yr and wins, that’s 60k salary. Take off taxes, training camp fees etc. and he isn’t left with a whole lot. All this in a sport you can compete in for an avg. of 10 years. Doesn’t sound very attractive to me.

by MMAussie on Jul 5, 2011 8:27 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

He needs to learn to market himself better or win. Dennis Siver (although he beat GSot) is around the same level in my opinion and he has made over 100k already this year. You also have to factor in alot of these guys run gyms or at least teach at one which provides them with extra money.
