Tyron Woodley needs Strikeforce more than they need him.

This is my first post, so please don't be too harsh.

Tyron Woodley needs Strikeforce to continue. He has become the overwhelming favourite to become their next Welterweight Champion with his recent win over the highly ranked Paul Daley. With fans calling for a merger with the UFC to have all of the best fighters under the one promotion, T-Wood is on the verge of being swallowed by the deepest division in the UFC. The 170lb division is a shark tank of elite wrestlers with GSP, Fitch, Brennamen, Kos, Diego, Hughes, Pierce, Hendricks and Story just a few of the names he would have to get past just to get in the title picture. He is not exciting enough and does not have the name or drawing power to be given a shot straight away like Diaz (and to a degree Jake Shields) and is likely 5 straight wins from being in contention.

Should Strikeforce continue with "Business As Usual", Woodley can use his wrestling to grind out his opponents to decision wins and climb the rankings like the Bellator champion Ben Askren has done. With a title win and a few successful defences, Tyron will be fringe top 10 within a year. Something which is unlikely should the 2 promotions merge.
