Strikeforce Fedor vs. Henderson Main Card Betting Lines

The betting lines for the main card of Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson this weekend and have been released, and the lines for the top two fights (which have been out for a little while now) are starting to move. Fedor Emelianenko has moved from -225 to -245, and Marloes Coenen has moved slightly from -125 to -130. The biggest surprise here to me is the Paul Daley vs. Tyron Woodley line. Frankly, I'm shocked that Woodley is such a favorite here. Here's how the rest of the lines for this Saturdays card break down.

Lines courtesy of www.bmaker.ag

July 30th, live on Showtime from Hoffman Estates, IL:

That is a fantastic line on Henderson.

Lawler at +185 is a great bet. I wouldn’t favor him against world class grapplers, but against Kennedy in a 3 round fight? give me Lawler everytime.

by Carlos Estrada-Ibars Martínez on Jul 27, 2011 7:25 AM EDT up reply actions

WOW!

Value all over this. Daley should in no way be a dog here, that’s a great bet. I think Lawler vs. Kennedy is a crapshoot so Lawler ain’t shabby as a dog.

Hendo ain’t a bad bet here, but I can’t get Fedor vs. Lindland out of my mind either. Not a great comparison but it haunts me.

I think a lot of people get stuck into stereotypes about fighters

They know Daley generally loses to good wrestlers. They know Woodley is a good wrestler. Therefore Woodley must beat Daley. Unfortunately for them, Tyrone Woodley is no Kos or Sheilds, and Daley’s tdd is hardly awful. Semtex is going to punish him.

its really being understated how awesome this card is

What do you think about Saffiedine/Smith?

I don’t know anything about Saffiedine and I know Smith mostly from the Sell fight and getting KOed by Daley.

i've seen saffiedine fight once

and he looked very average against woodley

but scott smith has never had a boring fight, so i’m sure it’ll be awesome

Saffedine looked great in is SF debut.

Really dynamic striking. Woodley just smothered him, but I think this fight is gonna be a lot of fun. Saffedine outclasses Smith, IMHO.

Tatum: I think he's a good man. I like him. I got nothing against him, but I'm definitely gonna make orphans of his children.

For a moment I thought they might have the numbers for Woodley and Daley backward. I think that’s a pretty good line on Daley but other people’s lack of confidence makes me think twice.

i think daley beats the living fuck outta him

Good chance

this fight is over in less than 3 minutes.

You can’t make a mistake with Daley. He has a nice sprawl and Woodley’s whole MMA wrestling game is an explosive power double.

So is Koscheck's. And Koscheck's is way better. And Daley gave him a few issues.

Not sure why Woodley is such a significant favorite. This seems like hype train gone wild. Cash money out of it though.

I was excited about Woodley

till I saw him fight in person.

I came as a fan I a honestly feel that Nate Coy beat him. For an elite level wrestler, he struggles a lot at times with guys he should run through on paper. The Galvao fight was cool, but he’s a BJJ who’s really green in MMA.

I don't think Woodley is progressing fast enough.

This is a quantum leap in competition and danger. Daley should win, but the meme of him failing against any grappler of any sort plus the fans wanting Woodley to be more than he is makes for a really wonky line.

That’s exactly what it is. Both points.

A lot of guys on his level of wrestling have jumped into the deep after a couple fights. Joe Warren, Mo Lawal, Ben Askren etc. Dan Cormier is about to take his 9th fight against the #6 HW.

He was able to stay up against Shields for awhile, and Kos’ takedowns are pretty incredible. If Woodley can’t get it to the ground early, often, and on demand it will be a long night in the hospital.

Conversely, he struggled with Jorge Masvidal and got taken down repeatedly.

So who knows.

What everyone needs to do is calm down, take a deep breath, and prepare their bodies for the Thunderdome.

I thought Jorge won that fight

He must have been caught off guard. Then again, Jorge was able to get KJ down and keep him there for a while. No one else has had any success at that.

I’ve seen Woodley fight a couple times but I wouldn’t say I truly know how good his wrestling is; that makes it hard to choose Daley with any conviction.

But Seriously

Fedor is going to win. Just because he lost 2 in a row doesn’t make him bad considering he caught in a triangle after knocking Werdum down, than he got beaten by a much larger Heavyweight which he was doing pretty well in. He is still Fedor and I see him winning by arm bar in the 1st

You know what they say

I like free money.

But there is no chance that scott smith wins this fight…Hendo and daley…yea boy.

by Jesus H. Christ on Jul 27, 2011 1:22 AM EDT reply actions

Yeah

The Smith fight was the one I was least sure of… I’m just don’t remember seeing Tarec fight and Smith is capable of beating mediocre competition.

by Diz D on Jul 27, 2011 1:26 AM EDT up reply actions

Especially when you factor in that Scott Smith has to kill himself to make 170.

Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.

I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.

Miesha Tate / Marloes Coenen

Tate is a great well-rounded fighter but isn’t really outstanding in any specific area. Coenen is more than adequate on the feet, and she’s had quite a bit of success with her submission game. If Tate was a bit more active recently I’d actually side with her, but I’d go with Coenen here.

Tate seems pretty well rounded to me.

I actually think her face leaves a lot to be desired

but with a body like that, she doesn’t really need to have a face.

She was on Inside MMA Friday and I thought she looked even worse

Her nose is really big, and it really throws off the rest of her face. It kind of looks squished up too.

She was wearing some frumpy dress, and was sitting in front of a desk
