Road FC 3 Fight Video: Denis Kang vs. Seung Bae Whi

Here's footage from the second round of the Road FC 3 main event, where Denis Kang took on Seung Bae Whi in an entertaining all-out brawl. The event was held yesterday on the Grand Hilton Seoul Convention Centre, in South Korea.

The video is from Nightmare of Battle, where in they also mention that based on the post-fight interview, Road FC is likely to host an 84kg (185 lbs.) tournament on their next show.

Star-divide

While this was a very entertaining bout with Kang displaying a ton of heart fighting with one eye swollen shut, this loss makes it two in a row for the UFC and PRIDE veteran. Kang is only 2-2-1 since being released from the UFC. He has a loss to TUF veteran, Jesse Taylor, and a draw to troubled middleweight, Paulo Filho. Quite a drop from the days when he was considered as one of the very best middleweights in the world.

That was awesome. Did you see the way that Seung’s corner man slammed him in celebration?

Haha I came to comment about this, I think he wanted to lift him and ended up dropping him.

Kang Let The Crowd Affect Him

I think if Kang didn’t start slugging when the crowd roared and picked his shots he could have won because up until that 10 seconds slugfest he was hitting SBW with some pretty hard shots (although we didn’t get to see how his eye got swollen shut)..

Poor Kang

While I don’t think he was ever as good as some thought, he is still a shadow of his former self. It’s amazing that he was once thought to be a championship contender.

After Kang’s woman died, his career went with it. You can’t say it is cause and effect, but there is a really strong correlation there.

Reminds me of Vitor Belfort's sister being kidnapped

Albeit his career turned around after he had closure when her body was found.

I thought the body of Belfort's sister was never found...

…and that he found closure in religion?! Maybe my memory betrays me, but I think he even said in a recent interview that he had to let go and still doesn’t know where her body is.

Damn Kang

I remember when they brought him over to fight Bisping and I was thinking “well this guy is from Pride and is being highly touted, this should be interesting…” only to see him get thoroughly outclassed after the first round.

Thoroughly outclassed after the first round? Uh what? He actually knocked Bisping down and had him in real trouble for most of the first round… Then, Bisping realized he’s not supposed to lose to Kang, turned it up a few notches, and easily finished him in the 2nd round. At least, that’s how I remember it.

?

yeah that’s why I said AFTER the first round. The first round was pretty even and I remember Kang rocked Bisping in the first. I think towards the end of the first round, but definitely in the second round Kang kept getting put on his back and getting gnp’d.
