Urijah Faber will have to go through Brian Bowles before he earns another shot at the UFC bantamweight title. Faber, who dropped a unanimous decision to the champion Dominick Cruz at UFC 132, will face former WEC bantamweight champion Bowles at UFC 139 on November 19th. UFC.com has it:

Two of the top bantamweights in the world will meet in one of the most intriguing bouts of 2011, as Urijah Faber takes on Brian Bowles. This verbally agreed to clash of former WEC champions will take place at UFC 139 in November.

"Before a possible trilogy can be considered between Urijah Faber and his rival, Champion Dominick Cruz, he will take on one of the division’s truly elite fighters, former Bantamweight Champion Brian Bowles," said UFC President Dana White. "A win over Faber would be massive for Bowles’ bid to challenge for the belt that was once his. The stakes are high and the fight will be intense."

Faber will fight in his home state for the first time since his WEC 48 battle with Jose Aldo last April. Bowles is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 132. He thought he might have broken his hand in the fight, but he's been cleared and is good to go. He had been campaigning for a title shot against Cruz, but he will need to go through Faber to get it.
