I have no fucking clue. Reports were saying Hendo wanted 200,000 from the UFC and they were like “lol fuck that”. Then SF pays him 800,000?! He could’ve been had for so much less. I hope it has something to do with his pay being structured in a weird way, backloading it like my favorite baseball team’s General Manager does to every one of its players.

Ironic, isn't it?
Dana doesn’t wanna give him a quarter of that contract’s worth, lets him go to Strikeforce who don’t have that much money, Dana laughs at the humongous contract, Strikeforce sinks, and Dana picks up the contract anyway!
Wait. This might have been one hell of a master plan…
Hendo hasn't always made 800k
In fact, he only made 250K against Cavalcante.
Haven’t been able to find his released pay for either Shields or Sobral.

What about paying fedor 1.3? I think that hurts them more than hendo.

plus sharing profits when they 'co-promote' with M1
Can’t be too good either.

What??? Co-promotion is not the awesomeness that M1 said it would be.
I've got something to say; it better to burn out than to fade away!!!
Is it really funny Mayhem, please tell me its funny.

I can’t imagine the logic behind how this was supposed to pay off for SF. I think at the time they signed him they were looking to make a push to the top, and they had to gamble on somebody. Hendo was at the top of a small mountain of available talent.
he was just coming off TUF, he was just coming off that inspiring KO of bisping in an event that had 1.4 million PPV buys.
you could have convinced yourself he was a star to build around at that time, if you were desperate.
and he was supposed to CREAM shields, remember.
it was a bad deal, very bad, but you can at least see their thought process.
Pretty fucking crazy that Hendo makes double what Lesnar does and doesn’t draw even close to what Brock can. Good job Coker lol.

Um, what?
Brock makes probably minimum 2-3 mill per fight.

Again he makes double Brocks base pay. Brock gets that money cause he EARNS it but putting asses in the seats and selling a million plus buys on every card. Has there ever been a Lesnar card that hasn’t done a mill plus buys ? And has there ever been a card Lesnar hasn’t been on that did at least a million buys ? Brock earns his pay cause of what he pulls in.

UFC 81 and 87 both did around 600-650k.

Dan...
fights when asked and fights top tier guys. Look, you can get upset all you want but the fact of the matter is that Coker did this to compete with the UFC pre buyout. Any fighter is going to want the best deal.
No one is blaming the fighter. For him it’s a great deal.
