UFC 132 Fight Card Primer: Anthony Njokuani vs. Andre Winner

Exciting strikers Anthony Njokuani (13-5-1, 0-1 UFC) and Andre Winner (11-5-1, 2-3 UFC) will meet in the cage in what is likely to be a loser leaves town matchup. This lightweight UFC 132 bout will take place on the preliminary card, and will be streamed live on Facebook. The Facebook stream begins at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.

How do these two stack up?

Njokuani: 31 years old | 6'1" | 75.5" reach
Winner: 29 years old | 5'11" | 70" reach

What have these two done recently?

Njokuani: L - Edson Barboza (UD) | W - Edward Faaloloto (TKO) | L - Maciej Jewtuszko (TKO)
Winner: L - Dennis Siver (SUB) | L - Nik Lentz (UD) | W - Rafaello Oliveira (UD)

How did these two get here?

Anthony Njokuani was a long-time employee of World Extreme Cagefighting, going 4-3 under their banner over two years before being transferred to the UFC. After dropping his first WEC bout to future champion Ben Henderson, he won three straight fights and picked up three straight knockout of the night bonuses along the way. A quick loss to Shane Roller followed up by an embarrassing knockout loss to Maciej Jewtuszko almost ended his run in the promotion, but a win at WEC 52 got him a shot in the UFC. His first fight was a barnburner against Edson Barboza where he dropped a spirited decision but won another fight of the night bonus.

Andre Winner was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 9, where he made it all the way to the finals before falling to Rough House teammate Ross Pearson. He picked up a couple of good wins over Roli Delgado and Rafaello Oliveira after that, but has since dropped two in a row to Nik Lentz and Dennis Siver.

Why should you care?

Two really good strikers that aren't afraid to mix it up are going to open the card. One of them is likely going to be out of a job if he loses. That motivation should lead to a pretty entertaining fight.

Im going with Njokuani. Winner got caught by Siver who isnt as technical as Njokuani. I think Anthony can catch him…and hopefully he’s also fixed his defense a bit
