The UFC has offered up yet another fight announcement, this one for UFC 137 on October 29th. It will be a light heavyweight battle between Brandon Vera and Eliot Marshall. Here's what they had to say:
Also at UFC 137, a light heavyweight matchup has been verbally agreed to as Eliot "The Fire" Marshall will welcome Brandon "The Truth" Vera back to the Octagon.
Vera was released from the UFC after his lopsided decision loss to Thiago Silva at UFC 125 on January, but was given a reprieve due to Silva failing a drug test. The result was changed to a no-contest, and Vera was given another fight. He hasn't won a bout in almost two years. Marshall was released from the UFC following a split-decision loss to Vladimir Matyushenko at UFC on Versus 1, but was brought back as a late replacement to face Luis Cane at UFC 128. He was defeated in the first round by Cane, but has been given another chance. The fight is a must-win for both men if they wish to continue plying their trade in the UFC.
