Jon Jones is an obv. talent. He went on a media spree after he smashed Shogun.
My question to the B.E. community is how do you feel about Dana White (Boss man) doing commercials with Jon Jones?
Is there a conflict of interest?
Recall UFC 121, Brock, the UFC biggest draw, the look on DW face when he put the belt on Cain said it all. No smile, No jubilee in the fact that a smaller HW in Cain dismatantled a much bigger HW Brock. Dana looked heart broken. His cash cow Brock not only lost, but got embarrassed.
To the more cerebral posters, how do you feel about this latest Dana/Jones trend.

How could there be a conflict of interest? That means Dana being a commercial actor makes him unable to fairly perform his duties as UFC President. Are you suggesting he will treat a fellow Bud Lite spokesperson favorably because they gave him one paycheck?

I’ll respond anyways!
I think you are grasping here. If BL had said they wanted him and any fighter, Dana would have done it. It is all about promoting the UFC, not any one fighter in particular. Promoting a young fighter that has thus far been dominant and is a belt holder, seems to make the most sense to me. With Tiger Woods out, there has been a call for golf to push Mcilroy, a young up and coming, now, major champ. The NFL doesn’t push old guys about to retire as much as young guys who may be something. In other words, this is the norm in sports. Not only do you push recognizable faces, but the young comers. Now, I know what you’re saying, Roger Goodell isn’t doing commercials with Aaron Rogers. Daniel Stern isn’t doing a commercial with Kobe. But the UFC is a different animal. You need ti think of this more as Jerry Jones appearing with Tony Romo or Mark Cuban with Dirk Nowitzki.
What you have here, is a non-issue.
But he did work with Joe Pesci

I don't get this
Let the fighters fight, let the referees ref, but dear God, don't let the judges judge.
I second that motion

No need to re-post what you already said. It doesn’t make much sense and the argument has zero merit at all. Dana is the co-owner and president of the UFC, and he’s also the spokesman for the company in many ways. Bud Light was running a promotion and they decided to feature the top fighter along with Dana in one of their commercials. End of story.

There is an obvious conflict of interest in the fairness of the sport
He is promoting Jon Jones and himself as the face of MMA in a nationwide commercial.
I’m sure David Stern would love Lebron and Kobe to be in the finals every year, but you don’t see David Stern making Nike commercials with Lebron James or Kobe Bryant.
I have no problem with Jon Jones being in a commercial, I just think DW could have kept himself out of it.
I understand this is the fight game, but I’ve never seen anyone in the Boxing Game do a commercial with a fighter. Don King has his stupid croc commercial but that was solo.
And I enjoy watching bones fight. I think he has a bright future in the sport if all goes accordingly.
You forgot that Dana promotes the UFC every time he appears somewhere, he is one of the iconic faces of the sport and the face of the UFC.
He doesn’t appear in the commercial because it is Jon Jones. He appears because there is a commercial. I hope this will be cerebral enough for your high standards.

hahah
ok the cerebral comment was more off handed and meant in jesting
i understand your point … i was just conflicted when i saw the commercial
