I am just so stunned by Tito. Not only does he shock MMA fans around the world with his incredible win over Ryan Bader, he steps up to the plate to take on a TRUE top 3 opponent.
You may say Tito is just doing it for the money (which I mean, he really is... he turned the fight down then signed the contract in the same day... Dana White basically hit the "Buy it Now" button on Tito's dignity auction) but regardless, he has the chance to truly cement his legacy.
I can't remember a UFC LHW champion reclaiming their belt after losing it. If someone did, don't correct me, because I don't want to know.
Like every fighter I truly cheered for before him, like Chuck against Franklin, like Randy against Machida, like Brock against Cain... I have that feeling, where you know how this fight's going to end before it even started... Those were all fights where the lesser man had a real chance at winning. This time Tito's walking right into the jaws of the beast.
He's got no time to train, no time to prepare, no advantage on his feet, no advantage on the ground. Time's working against him, he says he's at 100% but we all know how Tito's stories work, he'll work his way backwards and he was actually still injured when he crushed Ryan Bader.
But this time I really don't care. He's stepped up to the plate in a way where next to no one in this sport ever would. Win, lose, or draw, he has earned my respect.
Godspeed Tito. and RIP Tito in advance.
