Fedor Emelianenko Trains with Brother Aleksander for Bout With Dan Henderson
It appears that Fedor Emelianenko and his brother Aleksander Emelianenko are working together again to prepare Fedor for his July 30th bout with Dan Henderson at the appropriately named Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson. Aleksander was a member of the Red Devil Sport Club for many years along with his brother, but left in 2009. The article here is in Croatian, and was translated by Marko Petrak of Fightsite.hr:
Fedor Emelianenko is doing his final preparations for his bout with Dan Handerson in small Rusian town called Kislodovsk. It's situated between the Black and Caspian Seas. He recently made up with his brother Alexander after long period that this two haven't even spoken to each other. Since he lost his two last fights, Fedor decided to change lot of things in his life, and he decided to start training with his brother Alexander again - like they did in their prime.
Our sources tell us that both of the fighters are in great shape. Specially Alexander who lost some weight and looks really sharp. Fedor is also satisfied that he made up with his brother because this thing bothered him for a long time. Now he is lot calmer than he was before fights with Silva and Werdum."
Aleksander fought in Pride for a long time, and was scheduled to fight on an Affliction card in 2008 but failed his medicals. He has fought in Europe and Asia ever since. He lost his last bout to Peter Graham in December.
You can check out some pictures after the jump.

I always thought Aleks
could be a real force. It’s a shame his health issues got in the way of that. Nice to see him with his brother again.

i think it was less health issues and him just not being motivated to train and fight on a regular basis.
he is fairly well known in russia and lives a fairly comfortable financial life, there was never the pressure put on him like there was with fedor.
but you are right, definitely a talented guy
Well
The AC said he wouldn’t fight in the US for some reason.

If only Fedor would drop weight classes...
He would be a force again at 205, and a monster at 185.

Without the flab Fedor is easily under 200lbs.
Why you scoff so hard?
"It is hard to free fools from the chains they revere."

summed up the absurdity of those comments pretty well. I will add
If only Fedor would put on some weight, he might be able to get up to a ton. Then he could be like Mogo.

Don't act like you wouldn't stain your pants like the rest of us
if Fedor said he’s now a lean 210 and he is coming for Bones.
"It is hard to free fools from the chains they revere."
I'm a Bones fan
and damn, that would be a hell of a fight.
"Complacency is your demise." - Kerry King
Bones got asked if he would fight Fedor on his twitter once.
He did not respond as if he would love to.

Duke Blue Devils 2010 NCAA Men's Basketball Champions
Fedors biggest advantage has always been that most HW’s are slow, and he is fast. This isn’t the case at LHW.
I would say
Bones would not have the advantage in the clinch as he always does, and Fedor’s punching style matches up great with Bones as well, in that he uses that “Casting” punch from way outside.
Jones would be doin the bobblehead!
"It is hard to free fools from the chains they revere."
Based on what? His reach?
Shogun looked dizzy that whole fight.
If it goes to the ground, I could see it ending with an armbar considering Fedor’s submission skills and the long arms of Bones that would be hard to protect. Very loose theory.

I'd hate it
Because Fedor would get crushed at 205 and I would be sad.

Why stop there?
He’s like 5’10" and could probably make 170 with a good diet. But he’ll never even cut to LHW, so why speculate him fighting at MW?

I like how he was going to drop weight and get out of his comfort zone camp-wise
And so far that’s looking like:
Heavyweight —> Heavyweight bout with a natural middleweight
(and possibly some kind of gentleman’s agreement to come in lighter)
Stary Oskol —> Kislodovsk
There was a whole load of footage of them training together last year..
.. presumably from one training camp. Before he lost to bigfoot & Werdum. Before Aleks lost to Peter Graham.
I can confirm this.

No,
I was talking about the first training pic in the article, where it looks like Fedor & Aleks are hugging.
Thanks for ruining the joke.
Just kidding! Didn’t seem like anyone got it anyways. :P

Alecks' shoulder tatoos are pretty
remind me of another tatoo that certain Russian’s get on their shoulders like that…

he has reformed his gangsta life i think
doesn’t that mean his life is over? i saw eastern promises aleks you better put them stars back
doesn’t that mean his life is over?
thats what I thought. unless he really wasnt involved with them and they came to a resolution that he should stop appearing to be involved with them by covering up his tattoos.
Idk if you can just leave that organization if youre a part of it. I just assumed it was a blood in blood out type of deal.
PRIDE NEVER DIE!!!
Has Fedor put some muscle mass back on?
His arms and shoulders definitely look a little broader.
Still not crazy about the training that Fedor is doing. He needs to learn at one of the modern MMA schools if he wants to fill in his game IMO. I get the feeling that Fedor will not be fighting much longer though, despite what he said.
On a side note, you have got to give it up to Hendo. He is ancient in MMA terms and is still a beast. Look down his list of opponents and I don’t think there has ever been a fighter that has had such a “who’s who” of MMA on it. Can’t wait to see it.
If heavyweight isn't the toughest division in the UFC, then why doesn't someone that can kick their asses move to it? They don’t even have to cut weight!!
