One and done UFC middleweight Maiquel Falcao got a 30 second KO win over Julio Cesar Bilik in a fight that, quick as it was, was allowed to continue about 29 seconds too long by a referee seemingly unconcerned with fighter safety. Video of the fight is in the full entry.
Falcao won his only UFC bout over Gerald Harris at UFC 123 in a fight marred by bad time keeping. Falcao had Harris in a rear naked choke at the end of the first round when the buzzer rang -- a full seven seconds early, more than enough time for Falcao to finish the submission. The Michigan State Athletic Commission filed a formal complaint against the time keeper Stephen George Daher.
After fairly action-packed second round that saw Falcao batter Harris further, the third round was one of the worst, most inert rounds in recent UFC history. Harris found himself cut after just his first loss with the promotion and three wins -- including two Knock Out of the Night performances.
Falcao had been booked to fight at UFC 134 but was cut after legal issues emerged that gave the UFC cold feet about working with the fighter. He apparently failed to abide by the rulings in a 2002 assault case.
