First Footage Released From the UFC Undisputed 3 Video Game
Here's the first trailer from the upcoming video game, UFC Undisputed 3. It will be released on January 2012, and if you missed the initial announcement, the notable changes are the reworked submission system, and the addition of 'PRIDE mode'.
Here are a few details and changes from the game when it was first announced:
UFC Undisputed 3 will mark the debut of PRIDE Mode, enabling players to fight for the first time in the renowned Japanese MMA organization. The mode will include official commentators Bas Rutten and Stephen Quadros, authentic environments and notorious MMA rules, including the ability to execute soccer-style kicks, head stomps and ground knees to the head. Finishing an opponent will be more important than ever through devastating new moves, responsive striking controls, refined visual presentation and the introduction of a brand new submission system. In addition, players will now enter the Octagon with a choice between traditional and simplified gameplay control options, enabling them, regardless of skill level, to experience the intensity of UFC and nuances of MMA combat while executing simple standing strikes or more complex ground and transition mechanics.
Players will also experience the excitement of a live UFC event through significant visual improvements, including the introduction of much-anticipated fighter entrances, new camera positions, improved facial animations and a gritty, high contrast appearance. They will enter into battle with an unparalleled choice of more than 150 playable UFC fighters, including talent from the newly added featherweight and bantamweight divisions. Rounding out the virtual UFC experience with a significantly revamped online experience, as well as a variety of new and returning gameplay modes, UFC Undisputed 3 lets players have their fights – their way – to deliver the most intense, competitive and engaging experience to date for the franchise.

Looks remarkably unimpressive. Probably the same engine as previous ones, too.

That’s what I was thinking too. Hopefully they still have improvements to make in the next 6 months or that was a bad clip.
I liked a few of the new moves they seemed to have though, especially that kick from the bottom.

They can't make improvements because its the same engine
This looks like they added gimmicks to fool people into thinking that they changed anything. Its like madden adding the hit stick and nothing else. Still the same stiff models the only thing they added was some new gimmick modes.
I am vorn the unspeakable the skulls of those who defy me bleach in the suns of hundreds of worlds...... and you are
Yes, still looks like shit.. hope they’ve improved the gameplay at least, but I won’t be holding my breath.
Can’t go wrong with Pride mode though.

Ugh...
Wanna use the sharpen filter, I see…
Seriously, this looks the same as always but with different colors. Also, what is it with Rampage getting owned by Lidell?
Looks very robotic and not to much different from the previous undisputed games… no flow at all.
Atleast I hope they fix the career mode and more realistic knockouts.

It's a video game...
Go back and play Nintendo until this comes out then give it a chance. Maybe then you will appreciate games like this rather than spending your day complaining about something you have never played! It’s pretty simple, you don’t like it, don’t buy it.

Really?
So, you as a consumer just lap it up everytime a game you may like comes out? It looks not much different from the previous two games and way too robotic, not more fluid like the second Undisputed. And there’s squat to “appreciate” right now ‘cause the game hasn’t even been previewed. All we have to go on is what they show us…and it looks shitty.
They are expecting 60 bucks for this shit. It has to be good. No ifs or buts. They still have time, let’s hope it plays better than it looks.

They spend money on marketing.
The response they want is positive sometimes its negative. Its all a part of marketing.

Plenty of Nintendo games that I would rather play than either Undisputed.

Got to love this way of thinking though, I’m going to test it out, I’m only going to watch standard def on a 80’s TV my parents still have in they garage for a year just so I can REALLY enjoy the superbowl in high-def next year.

I'd like to see Namco put out a UFC game
Or even AKI develop one. THQ Yukes games always seem clunky and disjointed.
Damn THQ for using that same engine.
This really looks underwhelming. Thats why Dana should have not resigned with them and gone to EA. They will use a new engine or at least make significant improvements that we can notice on every new version. Especially one with a 2 year dev cycle.

Because EA isn't notorious for running decent franchises into the ground with bullshit updates every year.
Roses that grow in shit still smell like shit.
Depends on the franchise. NHL and FIFA are locks as sports game of the year candidates year-in, year-out.
Twitter: @Mike_Fagan_13
I haven't played either in years.
Are they genuinely good or is it that they face so little competition that they have an opportunity it shine in spite of it.
Not trolling, genuinely wondering because I wrote off most anything EA years ago.
Eh … not to take anything away from Fifa which I play almost religiously but the changes in game play from Fifa 10 – Fifa world cup – Fifa 11 ( all of which came out in about 14 months span) are not very substantial.

EA’s NHL is always amazing. And every year they put new stuff to make the game better. I have owned all of them since 93 and I’m still amazed how every year they out do themselves.
NHL and FIFA are great examples of how to make fantastic sports games.
NHL 11 is probably the only game in my collection that i will play right until the new one comes out. And its the same for me every year.
Sheeeeeeeee-it
NHL is fun, on thing they are suppose to be working on for this year was working on the goalies and fixing glitches that people exploit to score every time. In 94 is was the wrap around.
I’d rather just climb this fridge
Just like every fighting game...
…you can win by spamming power attacks and KO the guy. But if you’re actually good, tactics will win out. I played online a dozen times against guys who picked Anderson Silva and tried to throw flying knees until I was on the mat. I side-stepped them, took them down and subbed them every time because they wore their stamina bar to the bottom with my boy Demian Maia.
Then they’d quit before the tap so I didn’t get the “W” – kids playing online are sore losers.
I think the UFC games are fun. They’re well made. The only problem with it (and this applies to all sports games) is that it’s still the same sport three years later and all the tweaks and roster changes in the world won’t change that. I only have both games because a friend gave me 2010, but I probably won’t be picking up the third game. I played the first one to death and I’ve moved on.

They made a video game about Yakuzas. It’s called Yakuza. And it’s about Yakuza

My ultimate gripe with Undisputed is how the fighters react when they get rocked. In undisputed the fighter who has been rocked will always fall backwards in the same dumb ass animation no matter what you hit them with or how. Afterwards there is no real urgency to the situation and it really detracts from the overall product. Ea mma nailed this part of the game with the combo of rag doll physics and animations that produce a huge number of possibilities , something THQ should really look into recreating
Not only do they get "rocked"
But THQ really took the “has he recovered?” line from Goldberg to heart and proceeded to “un-rock” them about one second later.
Canucks Cup Countdown: 3
Next Series: Operation Bruins in Ruins
Despite all the flaws I’m a huge fan of the undisputed games, but damn THQ is making it hard for me. Same looks? Probably same gameplay too, but with just a few new moves. If this would’ve come out a year after 2010, I might’ve bought it, just because I love 2010 so much, but with all the time they’ve taken, this looks to be a real dissapointment.

I like it.
Learn JiuJitsu, it's fun.
Hey, hey what can I do?---I got a little woman and she won't be true.
I do wonder what they've done with the submission system..
I will however not buy this game to find out. I can foot stomp all I want in EA MMA :-)
The big question should be...
…are these assholes ever going to deliver with DLC roster updates like they have promised for each game?
I’m not sure I understand the beef with the graphics based on what I can only assume is a VERY unfinished product.
by TMadeBurner on Jun 6, 2011 2:42 PM EDT via mobile reply actions
I'm not saying its cool
But that is no different than any sports game I’ve ever played, saved for EA’s NHL series. GTA doesn’t look too much different from game to game, neither does the Call of Duty series.
The gameplay is what I care about. Ill reserve my judgment about this edition for the demo. Fix some of the shittier points of the game and ill be happy.

ouch
A lot of hate here…
Ok, the engine is not perfect but 09 & 10 are good games. I was starting get interested in mma when i bought 09 and that hyped me up to watch it more and more.
And you do not need to buy it every single year a new one is released. I skipped 10 myself and only played it from friends.
i am trully happy they are adding new features, new fighters, pride mode etc. Even though it is not GOW3, it is a good game and it is getting better.
If they're going to use the same engine every year
they should just give users an update every year that costs 10 bucks or so that updates the fighters. I don’t wanna spend 60 bucks every year for relatively the same game with a few new fighters.
I'll be playin EA Mma long after this comes out
