#3 Quinton "Rampage" Jackson defeated #16 Matt Hamill at UFC 130 in one of the most predictable fights ever booked to main event a pay per view.
#7 Ryan Bader is scheduled to destroy unranked Tito Ortiz this weekend at UFC 132.
UFC 133 is set to be headlined by #4 Rashad Evans and #9 Phil Davis in a fight that ought to be very interesting. The event will also feature two fighters battling to stay relevant in the shark tank that is the light heavyweight division as #11 Antonio Rogerio Nogueira takes on #13 Rich Franklin.
Based on the premise that all MMA rankings are subjective but that it’s still useful and informative to know who the online MMA community as a whole ranks as the best fighters in MMA, we collect and average the rankings of the top MMA websites to produce our consensus rankings. We compile the top MMA rankings from each of our sources and award 25 points for a first place ranking, 16 for a 10th place ranking, 1 for a 25th place ranking. A formula is used to "normalize" the data so all fighters are awarded points from those lists that do not include a full 25 fighters. This formula ensures that each ranking site awards the same number of total points regardless of how many fighters they choose to rank. Each fighter’s total is divided by the number of possible points to determine their standing in the Consensus Rankings.

I like how 2-6 can be basically interchangable
What happened with Iole this month?
Also Diabate and Babalu are both overrated imo

Right? It's not much of a drop from 2 to 6.
He didn’t submit a ballot.
Grossly overrated in my opinion.

How is Rashad Ranked Below Rampage if he Beat him. If Rampage was Rusty or Not Rashad should still Be Ranked Higher than Him Until He Fights again @ the Very Least….?? Am i Wrong….??
Its one of those chains
Rampage beat Machida who beat Rashad who beat Rampage making any order of the three a viable ranking.
except Machida beat Page.

Na Page won ala Bisping/ Hamill. Two rounds squeaked by and one round so dominant damn near 10-8 , but you know how that goes.
You can win the rounds and lose the fight, it happens sometimes…

MMA Ratings
dropping Rashad is what killed him
1. Anderson Silva is waiting for you to punch him.
2. That guy is Anderson Silva.
3. Don't fucking punch that guy.

Fine by me
It’s Bones and then everybody else anyway.
No love for Mike Kyle
Despite being on the verge of knocking out a now top 10 hw?
I know I know…just interesting
Also- any word on Thiago Silva?
There’s not enough Thiago’s in MMA, so I’m worried.

He got a one year suspension after the failed drugtest in the Vera fight. Which was just a few months ago.. so it’ll probably be a while until we hear anything about him. He wasn’t cut by the UFC at least.

I know it's become fashionable to Diss on Tito Ortiz
However his last 5 opponents are currently ranked
7
16
3
5
And he was a fence grab Point deduct from beating #4
Not saying the guy is what he used to be? I still think he can beat some guys hanging out in the 15-25 area.
" Tell me something Steve, How does a guy from Puerto Rico loose a ball in the Sun? "
definitely
but he’s a legendary star making legendary star money, there’s no % in fighting those 15-25 guys unless he is broke and desperate for money.

Huh?
That fence grab made the 3rd a 10-8 round?
" Tell me something Steve, How does a guy from Puerto Rico loose a ball in the Sun? "
Forrest vs. Rua
It’s a bigger fight than i had originally given it credit for. I didn’t realize how close Forrest is to a title shot. If he can beat Shogun again, a case could be made for him to get a shot after Rampage. Obviously, Rashad deserves it if he beats Davis, but Dana just doesn’t want to give him that fight.
You think? I think LW is stupidly stacked in terms of all LW outside included…
I mean a division that lost Florian/ Penn/ Sanchez / Sherk ( inactive ) / Griffen / Stevenson and is still ridicolously stacked is well just ridiculous.
I dont think any division can top LW… Check it out…
Edgar
Maynard
Melendez
Alvarez
Miller
Guillard
Siver
Aoki
Kawajiri
GSot
Bendo
Pettis
Guida
I mean that’s insane meanwhile losing like 5 big guys as well. It’s just insane…

4 observations
1) I’m suprised that Rampage leapedfroged Rashad, but looking back it makes sense since Rashad hasn’t fought in over a year
2) Keith Jardine doesn’t deserve to be in the top 25, i think we can all agree that he got whooped by Mousasi, that was one of the worst decisions of the year, and that’s saying something
3) What happened to Jason Brilz? 1 loss and he dropps out of the top 25?
4) Also, why the hell are people still ranking Randy? Don’t they understand what retired means?
Rampage > Machida > Rashad > Rampage
by p123 on Jun 30, 2011 2:32 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
Rashad>Griffin>Rampage > Machida > Rashad > Rampage
or
Jones>Shogun>Lil’ Nog>Henderson>Franklin>Hamil>Jardine>Griffin>Shogun>Rampage > Machida > Rashad > Rampage
i could keep going all day
It is, so why the issue with Rampage > Rashad. Rankings is bullshit, it is what it is…

generally panelists
only drop a fighter after he’s been inactive for 18 months or so. saying they’re retired doesn’ mean jack in this sport. Randy has officially retired 2x before.

Damn, the delusional Randy Love still lives.
Damn, I like Jardine but how can he be ranked against a fighter, albeit 1 fighter that’s winning?
I tend to be biased towards strikers . . . exciting strikers.
