it's fun to imagine
that there’s a casual fan who’s checking out the site and has never heard of Sakuraba who clicks this link and is off and running.

Absolutely
I have yet to meet a casual that I introduced to Saku who hasn’t become an instant fan.

Great write up
Greatest fight of all time!
1. Anderson Silva is waiting for you to punch him.
2. That guy is Anderson Silva.
3. Don't fucking punch that guy.
Kazushi Sakuraba is a Catch Wrestling legend, he just cruised past the best BJJ guys in MMA. I’ve always wondered why Rickson Gracie never tried to avenge the family name, him and Sakuraba would have been unbelievable. Shame Pride kept putting Saku in with guys who outweighed him by 30, 40 pounds. Heartbreaking to see him now, but his legacy as a legit all-time great is secure.
This was one of the first MMA fights I ever watched after the original UFCs
Was it long and slow? Yes. Was it part of the reason I fell in love with MMA? Yes.
Treat it like a movie as well as a fight and you're good to go.
This fight just oozed coolness. Loved it.
There are pieces of this fight that are still incredible to watch.
