Canadian UFC lightweight John Makdessi has apparently caught the injury bug that's running rampant through the UFC right now.  He has withdrawn from his fight with Paul Taylor at UFC on Versus 5 due to the undisclosed injury. MMADiehards is on it:

The undefeated lightweight contender, John Makdessi (9-0) was forced to pull from his next fight against British fighter, Paul Taylor (11-6-1) with an undisclosed injury.  Makdessi was penciled in to fight Taylor during UFC on Versus 5 which had Dan Hardy and Chris Lytle headlining the event on August 14 at Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

Makdessi is coming off an excellent spinning-backfist KO of Kyle Watson at UFC 129, and is now 2-0 in the UFC. Zuffa will be looking for a replacement to fight Taylor, who last fought at UFC 126 where he knocked out Gabe Reudiger. Taylor is a three-time winner of the fight of the night bonus, and is currently 4-5 in the UFC. His first six bouts came at welterweight, but he dropped to lightweight last year where he's now 1-1. His lone lightweight loss was a very close split-decision loss to Sam Stout at UFC 121.
