Bellator announced two fights for their Bellator 48 card on August 20th. The first is a heavyweight superfight between Cole Konrad (7-0) and Paul Buentello (29-13) that was originally scheduled for Bellator 42. The other is a matchup between former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez (46-11) and Seth Petruzelli (13-6). It wasn't announced if the Rodriguez/Petruzelli fight would be contested at light heavyweight or heavyweight.
UPDATE by Anton Tabuena: Seth Petruzelli says that his fight against Rodriguez would be at a 230 lb catchweight.

I see Konrad getting the takedown on Buentello all day. Rodriguez vs Petruzelli is interesting though, and with a lack of Light Heavyweights on the Bellator roster, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Petruzelli in the next Bellator Light Heavyweight tournament. I can see Rodriguez also getting into one of the Bellator tournaments.

Konrad isn't the most explosive takedown guy in MMA by any means but once he is on top....
only the most athletic and explosive UFC/SF guys have any hope of getting him off. Still, I think Paul might be game enough to ward off the takedown long enough to land a shot. I will fully fail to acknowledge any mention of Kongo wrestling him to a decision. Konrad must lose. He must.
Clay Guida ensured he is now and forever the worlds most exciting and active boring fighter.
Not only that but Konrad gasses quite bab even when getting the takedown. He has been lucky enuff to this point of his career that every time this has happend he has been still able to get the takedown and just lay on top of a sub par opponents all fight long, The man looked like he was about to keel over and die during the Grabowski and Orr fights. I have a feeling if he stays in this type of shape he is in for a very BIG wake up call the first fight that his opponent has decent take down def.
yea exactly
there is a reason the UFC and Strikeforce passed on him.

Ricco got fat again?
Wasn’t his last fight at 215?
Seth said on his twitter that the catchweight is for 230!!?!?!
Rico was 215 the last two fights (in one of them he was supposed to be 205).
Not sure how serious he is about making a big run.
