Heavyweight knockout artist, Stipe Miocic (6-0), who was ranked #5 on BloodyElbow.com's Heavyweight Scouting Report, has signed a four-fight contract with the UFC.
The NAAFS, whose heavyweight title Miocic won earlier this month after making Bobby Brents tap out due to leg kicks, announced the signing last night. No debut date or opponent has been set yet for the Ohio-based fighter who trains with Strong Style Fight Team, but we'll keep you updated when that news breaks.

Why the hell not? I mean shit, if it’s damaged to where you can’t stand on it, or if it causes you to fall down every time the guy lands another kick.. hopefully the ref will save you and call it a TKO, but if he doesn’t, I wouldn’t mind someone tapping because the fight is basically over at that point. No need to take further damage IMO.

Awesome! Yes, I’m of the opinion that the ref should probably stop fights such as Faber – Aldo too. If that doesn’t happen, corner / doctor stoppage or tapping seems fine to me. But I can understand that maybe “tapping to leg kicks” doesn’t sound like the greatest thing ever, as such.

Miocic is a former NCAA Division I wrestler and baseball player at Cleveland State University who currently daylights as a firefighter in Oakwood, Ohio.

lol, good call.. that’s actually pretty funny
I watched a few of Stipe’s fights back when he was on the scouting report, pretty exciting prospect, good striking. Maybe he could have used a few more fights on the local circuit, but you can’t fault the UFC for wanting to pick him up before someone else does. Will be interesting to see how he does.
