Well, this should be good. Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto was forced to withdraw from a fight with Chris Cariaso at UFC 130 due to an injury, but he'll make his return against an even more dangerous opponent, Damacio Page. The fight will take place at UFC 135 in Denver, CO on September 24th, and was announced by the UFC today:
Dana White confirmed today that Damacio Page and 'Kid' Yamamoto have verbally agreed to fight at UFC 135 in September. Expect fireworks - "These are two of the most aggressive sluggers in the always-exciting bantamweight division," said White.
Kid's last fight was a losing effort to Demetrious Johnson at UFC 126. Yamamoto was once considered a pound-for-pound great when he fought at 155 pounds in K-1 Hero's, but has fallen on hard times over the past 3 years, going 1-3. Page has lost two in a row with his most recent loss coming when he submitted by Brian Bowles at UFC on Versus 3. Before that, he dropped a spirited decision was submitted by a spirited guillotine from the aforementioned Johnson at WEC 52.
