What the fuck is up with those elbows

It’s like they were designed to fuck people up with.

those are muscles…bracilis or something

Those forearms are beastly.

by lolumad on May 8, 2011 10:09 PM EDT up reply actions

Looks like someone snapped the pic when he was picking up a curl bar. If your palms are down it make your muscle poke out at the elbow.

Badr has added about 10-15 lbs of mass to his upper body, at least.

It’s obvious that he is putting the time in to get bigger and stronger but I don’t know if it’s necessarily a good thing. The guy was a complete destroyer before adding on this bulk, so I don’t know if it was necessary for him to add any size. I think he sees all the attention the Reem is getting for his Herculean physique and I think he’s trying to create that same type of effect. Hopefully, the new found mass won’t slow him and/or affect his conditioning.

If he added 10-15 pounds up top, he would have needed to have added about 25 down below

Weight gain happens in a general proportion. There’s no real way to just add mass to the upper body, not 10-15 pounds. If you’re gonna do that you need to squat and deadlift.

Anyways, yes, he’s looking much bigger/cut and is quite possibly taking drugs.

by Schwizzles on May 9, 2011 10:50 AM EDT up reply actions

Of course you can add weight disproportionately. We’re not talking about fat loss/gain here, we’re talking about muscle. You create hypertrophy in some muscles then you gain mass quicker there.

I don’t know, when you compare the first two fights with Overeem, the first with no muscle, the second with significantly more muscle, the second performance is quite a bit better. For a world class elite fighter like Badri, I’m sure he knows what he’s doing without sacrificing speed etc.

I love it

when a guy gets in great shape and improves his body he’s automatically labeled a roid user by the MMA community.

Get out from behind your computer go to a gym occasionally and work out hard for awhile.
You’d be amazed how different your body will look (WITHOUT PED’S) just from working out and not shoveling McDonald’s down your throat everyday.

Now Imagine how hard guys like Hari, and Reem train, and what kind of a strict diet they’re following on a regular basis then yes it’s very believable they’d get in superb shape.

But if you want to be pessimistic and just chalk it up to the belief it’s all from Drugs go ahead.
It’s common for the average Joe to assume everyone else is lazy too and takes the easy route and doesn’t actually work hard.

I got to add that Badr was known for not training all that seriously a couple of years ago. Just hitting up the gym 3-4 times a week, looks like he really improved on that.

However, with the constant rumors about Dutch kickboxers using PEDs, it’s always gonna look suspicious.

seriously bro...before I became a MMA fan I was very much into bodybuilding/powerlifting (still am),

Throughout the years i’ve come to know a thing or 2 about training/body recomposition/nutrition(and even roids for that matter), and claims that the guys u just named are on PED’s are very plausible…so dont start ‘defending’ guys who you dont even know (I assume), and even if you did, they wouldnt be telling a whole lot of ppl if they did use roids.
Besides all that, im still a huge Overeem fan, I couldnt care less if he uses or not, I just wanne see him smash Lesnar.

PEDs or not, the next K1 event Badr can compete in is going to be exciting

I run hot and cold on giving a shit about PEDs…it’s not what gets most of these guys to the dance…it probably just keeps them there, and performing at a high level.

What a beast.

Jesus I can’t wait to see him in action.

He doesn’t look roided to me at all. The guy looks like he’s been weightlifting for a couple of months. He also looks like he just finished doing 30 or so pull-ups. It cracks me up that everytime someone on a forum sees a picture of a guy looking a little buff, it means that he’s roiding. Hell I look like that when I’m in the middle of lifting.

He looks in shape, but not roided. If I was at the gym and just finished some sets I would look pretty close to that size.

It’s good Hari is finally hitting the gym and not just relying on his natural talent.
