Jesse "JT Money" Taylor pushed his winning streak up to five over the weekend with a quick submission of UFC and Pride veteran Denis Kang at Battlefield Fight League 8 in Nanaimo, BC. Kang was fighting in front of a partisan audience due to being a BC resident, but Taylor was able to slap on a rear naked choke and finish the fight inside two minutes of the first round. Taylor is now 13-3 since being booted from the UFC.

Talented kid, lots of potential,

but he is about as sharp as a mashed potato sandwich. I hope he can make enough money that his double digit IQ will not hinder his future after he leaves the fight game.

Are you talking about his antics on TUF? He has really seemed to transform himself since then. He has been fighting around the world since his short stint in TUF and his one fight in the UFC. I think that he has paid his dues and proven himself to get another shot in the UFC. Also, the UFC could always use more Middleweights.

So what if he fights around the world?

He was fighting before TUF too. We really have no idea if his attitude has changed or if he’s smartened up.

I don't care

if he has gotten any smarter. The kid hasn’t been arrested in the meantime, unlike some guys in the UFC, and he’s been destroying tough competition, he deserves another shot.

The fighting around the world part was to give evidence that he has been paying his dues and fighting various competition, but I simply wanted to point it out more than make it a big point. I’ve read and heard interviews with Taylor, and I see no evidence that he’s the same guy who was in the TUF house. Also, many fighters will say that being in that TUF house brings out the worst in people but isn’t an accurate reflection of a person. Look at someone like Matt Mitrione for example; in the TUF house, he was almost crazy and idiotic, but these days, he’s a fan favorite and seems like a totally different person.

Yeah he still has tons of potential, and I don’t think he should be Frank Shamrocked by the UFC for his one mistake.

I mean how many of us haven’t harassed women in a bar, screaming “I’m a UFC fighter!”

Did anyone watch the fight?

What’s going on with kang? Two years ago I would’ve called the commission to not sanction this fight for JTs safety…. I hate to use terms like “healthy” shogun or “motivated” bj but “mentally stable” kang would not have any trouble beating JT

He hasn’t been the Denis Kang of old for quite some time.

Kang should just open a school and call it a career. I dunno what happened to him, but his cheese done slid off his cracker.

It's just a world, it's just a life.

At this point

I think Jesse Taylor as earned another shot at the UFC, as long as he can keep from acting like a moron. Since his stint on TUF and his one match in the UFC, his losses were to Jay Hieron, Luke Rockhold, and Thales Leites, all of whom are hella tough opponents. As for Kang, he may not be Top 10 anymore but he’s still a solid litmus test. This was Kang’s first loss since getting bounced from the UFC by Michael Bisping, and his first loss to someone outside the Top 25 in about 8 years and 35 fights. I think Taylor deserves another shot.

Wouldn’t mind seeing him get a chance in the UFC again.

I has a sad. Kang is one of my favorite fighters :(

I’d rather just climb this fridge

JT actually has a better IQ than Kang.

Which is hysterical and sad at the same time.

TB_Money on JT Money. It’s like the world is making fun of me for not having enough cash on hand.

Gotta get on that Rick Ross calender and be hustlin’ every day, yo….
