Yeah. I think he’s been dealing with injuries for a while. He did mention that he was hampered during his fight against Dan Hardy.
I tend to be biased towards strikers . . . exciting strikers.

He was actually misdiagnosed
He thought he had an uncurable stomach problem for a few years. He would get ulcers if he ate too much in one sitting, so he couldn’t even eat full meals, only snack. His drop to 170 was involutary. Turns out it was entirely fixable with surgery, and he is now putting weight back on. He said he was going to return to 185, but his most recent fight (when his opponent pulled out due to injury) was still going to be at 170.

Meisha is built wonderfully, and has a super healthy body. She is a fine example to other women . She shows you don’t have to starve yourself to be a model. (see rockstar girls for bad example)

Why can’t MMA be about, you know, MMA? Why have stripers walking around in tight bikinis? I don’t get it. There are other sports that cater mostly to men, and you don’t see women in tight bikinis all over the place. I personally think it holds back MMA as far as general mainstream acceptance, to be honest.

Fair enough. For some reason, I don’t remember cheerleaders being as little clothed as that. Whatever. Can we just get back to talking about actual MMA, please? I’ll never say another word about how I hate that women fighters get treated around here like human blow up dolls instead of actual fighters. I tend to stay clothed because when I quit baseball a few years ago my body rapidly deteriorated into a state most aptly described as “flab”. And that’s my point. Women’s MMA will never get any respect as a sport as long as there are immature males in the world, and there’s never going to lack immature males, unfortunately. Women’s MMA will never work as a sport, just like women’s boxing doesn’t work, just like 95% of professional sports don’t work for women.

Yeah, this wasn’t a post about her fighting dude, it was her in a bikini. I can admire her body when she posts a photo and also her fighting when she fights. They aren’t mutually exclusive.

And that’s my point. Posts about women actually fighting are incredibly rare around here. And when there’s a post about a women fight, 99% of the comments will be about their look, with gifs of bouncing butts and Gina licking her lips. That’s my point. It’s just about never about the actual fighting with these women, it’s always about their look.
I think I disagree with you. When they’re recapping female fights the majority of the comments are about the fight, and when they’re posting posed photos of female fighters, the majority of the comments are about their looks. I’m not saying some people aren’t hung up on looks. You said it yourself, those are immature men. But you seem to be saying that men cannot comment on a female’s looks while having any respect for them in the ring and that’s just as small minded.

I like Roxy, I have one of her t-shirts. I love watching her fight. I also happen to think she’s cute. My opinion of her wouldn’t change one bit if she went to the beach one day and posted a photo of herself in a bikini. I’d like it, but I wouldn’t respect her less. Frankly, it seems kind of silly to have a fixed set of rules on how you expect all women to behave in order to be able to garner your awesome respect.
