Randy Couture and Tom Atencio Preview UFC 130: Rampage vs. Hamill Fight Card
UFC Hall-of-Famer Randy Couture sat down with our favorite failed MMA promoter in Affliction's Tom Atencio, to preview the upcoming UFC 130: Rampage vs. Hamill event. The most notable video of this series is probably their main-event preview, as Couture picks the +250 underdog, Matt Hamill over Quinton Jackson. Check it out as they both give quality analysis and picks dressed in the trademark clothing worthy of the MMA Tournament of Bad series:
After the jump, they give their analysis and predictions for the other UFC 130 main card bouts, plus the prelim bout between Miguel Torres and Demetrious Johnson.
Stefan Struve vs. Travis Browne:
Brian Stann vs. Jorge Santiago:
Miguel Torres vs Demetrious Johnson:
For those of you who are too lazy to watch the videos, basically the only difference of their picks are with the 2 headlining bouts. Here are their predictions:
Tom Atencio: Quinton Jackson, Frank Mir, Stefan Struve, Brian Stann, Thiago Alves, and Miguel Torres.
Randy Couture: Matt Hamill, Roy Nelson, Stefan Struve, Brian Stann, Thiago Alves, and Miguel Torres.

Good Affliction shirts are so horrible looking. You would think buy now they would of changed the design’s and patterns and revamped the clothing line into a different direction ?
Couture said Rampage hits like a mach truck, just look at the Machida fight. Rampage didn’t even punch Machida in the face. Rampage was a recipient of an ass whoppin in the third round.
No you're wrong
Rampage responded to the flury of kicks unleashed by Machida in the 3rd round by delivering a huge hook to Machida’s face which slowed Machida down and prompted him to take Rampage down. Yes, Rampage got his ass whooped in the 3rd, but it’s not like he did not hit back at all.
R fight fans really so add'ed out..
..that you have to throw all those stupid cuts in there just to get them to watch an interview? Awful editing.
to be fair
I was curious mostly about what they had to say about the three main fights and to a lesser extent, Struve. The Alves and Stann picks are kinda obvious gimmes imo

I think the reason why Randy chose Hammill
might be because he knows what its like to be an aging fighter who is desirous of making a gradual transition to showbiz. I guess he thinks that Rampage doesn’t want it bad enough.
I will buy those clothes if the girl comes with them.

randy is horrible at picking winners.
Or he is trying to move the lines to make a rampage play. Randy is rarely right with his picks.

I’m not surprised with Randy picking Hamill over Rampage. He’s seen holes in Rampage game for quite a while. And for the most part, Jackson’s game has not improved in quite a while. Not to mention his weight cut.
I tend to be biased towards strikers . . . exciting strikers.

Sure it could happen but even a unmotivated and not in the best of shape Rampage should be able to stop Hamils takedown and out strije him and win 2 out 3 rounds or possibly get a TKO. Sure Hamil could grind out a decision against a unmotivated Rampage but I don’t see it happening ? And if Rampage comes in anywhere near in shape like he did for the Chuck and Hendo fights I think he walks right threw Hamil.
