Cheers to Ninja.
He had some really badass career moments and was a hell of a fighter. Hopefully he’ll stick around MMA in some kind of capacity, maybe as a coach or something. The guy definitely knows a ton about fighting.

It pays well for a part time gig,
make a couple hundred bucks for a few hours of watching fights. He would make a badass ref, too.

He's done officiating in Brazil
I hope he continues to do so, he’s very intelligent and quallified.

I have a vague, unsettled feeling that he’ll be back

in my opinion and from what I have see now compared to Ninj’a’s Days in Rings and pride he is manily just looking at MMA as more of a pay day now then anything. You can just tell he does not train like he use to. So I am gald to see him ride off now. I don’t care what any one says the man in my eyes was on the end of 2 horrible decisions losses that he really should of won and bolth are high profile fighters. Dan Henderson & Rampage bolth were such bad decisions and really should be W’s on his record ?
agreed
put those fights as wins and the outlook of ninja’s career changes drastically

It really would be , and the most I thought about his career and looked at his record, I never watched the fight but from what I heard and have read the Draw in Shooto agasint Akihiro Gono was a BS decision also. Those 3 W’s on his record right there and his overall career would be looked at with alot more respect.
That's a dignified way to leave the stage
Hopefully he doesn’t return to fighting. He can be head coach at UDL, officiate (as some other folks here have suggested), maybe hit the grappling circuit, but he’s definitely taken enough damage in his career that he’s better off not fighting again. He’s had a fine run though, maybe he’s lost some he was expected to win but he’s had a career to be proud of all the same.

A sad day. Finally someone in MMA who knows when to retire at the right time.
As someone who was introduced to MMA through Pride and not the UFC, as these Pride veterans continue to retire I get a little more sad and feel like I am losing my favorite time in MMA, when every event was magical. I am happy for Ninja, and hope he truly finds fullfillment in his new life and truly stays retired. Ninja, Thank you for all the greats fights and entertaining me over the years. P.S. my favorite Ninja fight is his fight against Ze Mario Sperry. What a fight!

Good that he knows when to hang up the gloves
And he has a respectable body of work that can be looked back on. Worse thing is fighting beyond his capability and possibly get seriously hurt and KO’d (just see Dan Severen recently).
He had a tough career
Fighting out of his weight class (ie at heavy) to avoid treading on Wandy’s toes. Factor that in and a couple of decisions that went the wrong way and things could have been very different for him. Great guy, much respect.
He went out on his shield last night like any true warrior
Always willing to fight. Took some fights he had no business being in too.
Respect to the man and I wish him well in life.
Resist Much, Obey Little.
