Why Jones Should be Ducking Evans

There has been a lot of discussion about Jon Jones ducking the Rashad Evans fight. I think he is and I believe that it is a smart thing for him to do right now. I don't think that Jones is ducking Rashad forever, he is just looking for some time to develop more and separately from Evans. Currently, Evans has an edge in the fight because not only is he the more seasoned fighter but he know Jones skills, his gameplan, his weaknesses. In a year or two Jones will be a new fighter and it will be more difficult for him to prepare for the belt.

Jon Jones has been training in MMA for three year and most of that time has been spent with Rashad as a training partner. However he is still early in his development. We have seen in each fight Jones incorporating new skills and techniques. Well he is training with Greg Jackson he will continue to be exposed to the best training partners and coaches. This will lead to him refining his skill set even further. The longer the time spent training away from Evans the better for Jones.

Just food for thought.
