UFC 130 Preview: The Rampage Diaries - Episode 1

Continuing the series that started back at UFC 123, the first episode of "The Rampage Diaries" has just been released. It gives an inside look on the charismatic former champ in Quinton Jackson, as he prepares for his UFC 130 bout against Matt Hamill. Veering away from the traditional video blog-like clips full of training footage and played out "I will smash my opponent" lines, this episode simply focuses on what Rampage's daily life looks like.

It shows him visiting the eye doctor, playing pranks, and getting snitched on after cheating on his diet. Surely a slightly refreshing take on a format that usually been played to death, as it successfully captured a lot of Rampage's camera friendly personality.

This is a good start at shifting some of that promotional material and attention towards this fight, but UFC 130 is still going to need all the help it can get after losing the original main event title fight due to injuries.

Nice product plug 'Page

I wonder how much they’re paying him for that. That said, Rampage is an entertaining guy. I hope he’s not leaving MMA for movies anytime soon.

Yes he does, there’s one or two videos which include his son on youtube.

I may be a Rampage mark,

but I always thought the guy was funny. People (Rashad) talk about him like he’s so detrimental for black social progress, like a real life minstrel show or something. I just think he’s a goofy, playful guy.

rampage beat machida after everybody said he wouldn’t and now he’s about to run through hamill with ease.. He should be next in line for the title after this

A wins a win but....

He didn’t “beat” Machida. He eeked out a close decision. Rampage thought he lost.

Where is he training? SoCal?

Only Rampage could train in a place with that many great MMA coaches and then go to the expense of flying in Bisping’s striking coach to perfect his ability to circle into the other fighter’s power hand.

Crappy training. Crappy gameplans. I’ll say this about the guy: Anything he gets done is will and skill and heart. Because he does not make it easy for himself.
