An incredibly entertaining fight
But Aldo took a tough weight cut and was tired inside 10 minutes. I think a fully conditioned Jose finishes Hominick second time round. Even (semi?)-gassed he still looked dangerous. There was a point in the third I think it was where he floored Hominick and even with his notorious killer instinct, just looked too tired to finish. He tried, but couldn’t pull through.
Without the ring rust and an easier cut, Hominick gets the textbook Aldo treatment.

perhaps Florian should win a fight at 145 before we include him in this. Or better yet, make 145.

6th round is the Extra Head's idea. It popped up in the fourth, so it was still fresh in the fifth.

I hope we never see a rematchinsecurities. You could just tell the layoff from the injury, ring rust and the weight cut took a huge toll on Aldo and he was still able to pretty much dominate Homincik. A Aldo who is fine and feels normal beats and stops Hominick buy6 the 3rd round maybe before that. That was Hominick’s chance if there was ever one Aldo coming into fight in that condition and he not only blew it he got out classed for 4 out of the 5 rounds. Yes it was a exciting fight and Hominick has bull balls to keep going but the need to a 2nd fight is a no – no !
I hate that a guy gassing hard is saved by the last round’s bell and relies on how he did in previous rounds to win. I guess I’m saying there shouldn’t be time limits in MMA. That would be ideal for me.
