UFC 129 Results Recap: Pablo Garza vs. Yves Jabouin
In the opening fight of UFC 129 featherweight Pablo Garza withstood a series of vicious leg kicks from Yves Jabouin to land a rare flying triangle and get the submission at 4:31 of the first round.
What was the high spot of this fight?
Both fighters had moments in the fight that will look great on their highlight reel. Jabouin's series of leg kicks sent Garza flopping to the canvass. Unfortunately for Jabouin, it was Garza's flying triangle submission that won Submission of the Night (worth a tidy $129,000 bonus for Garza) and finished the fight.
Where do these guys go from here?
Garza's second UFC win guarantees him a return to the world's biggest MMA promotion. The fights will only get tougher as he climbs the ladder in the featherweight division. Possibilities include the winner of The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale's George Roop vs Josh Grispi.
Jabouin could be out of luck with Zuffa. He went 1-2 in the WEC and now he's 0-1 in the UFC. I don't think they have room on the roster right now for Yves. He'll likely need to go out in the wilderness and pick up some wins at the regional level to come back.
Watch it now, later, or never?
Watch it now. It was one of the most dramatic, back-and-forth bouts of the night and a flying triangle is always a treat.

I hope Jabouin stays
he’s pretty exciting. He definitely needs to drop to bantamweight though, Garza looked two weight classes bigger.
I couldn't believe he got boo'ed after that.
I don’t care if Kim Jong IL does that move on top of the Lincoln Memorial and then wipes his ass with the ‘Murican flag.
I’m gonna cheer it.
Sick Jits.
