Shinya Aoki def. Lyle Beerbohm via submission (neck crank) - R1 1:32
Lyle Beerbohm made the fatal mistake of initiating a grappling match with Shinya Aoki and quickly got tapped out via a face crank at 1:33 of the first round.
Aoki opened the fight with a body kick before Beerbohm forced the clinch against the fence. Aoki quickly swept him to the ground and took his back. Then Aoki applied a figure four body lock and cranked Beerbohm's neck until he got the tap.
Aoki lost his Strikeforce debut against lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez at Strikeforce: Nashville in April 2010. He came into the fight ranked #4 in the division in the USAT/SBN Consensus MMA Rankings.
Beerbohm racked up a 15-0 record before losing a one-sided decision to Pat Healy at Strikeforce Challengers in April.
