The Ultimate Fighter season three veteran Matt Hamill
has been waiting a long time to get a crack at a top 10 opponent. He is finally getting his chance against Quinton "Rampage" Jackson
at UFC 130
. Jackson was originally scheduled to face Thiago Silva
, but Silva's failed drug test after UFC 125
opened up the opportunity for Hamill. Hamill talks about the May 28th fight on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani
"The first time I heard (about the Rampage fight), I was really excited because I wanted to face him. I think it's my moment and time to shine, so I'm really excited to fight Rampage."
"I know I'm going to break his will, I know I'm going to beat Rampage. I've been training real hard and my conditioning and my skills and technique, striking and kicking are a lot better."
"I'm not going to underestimate him; he has heavy hands and he's got great knockout power. I know that Rampage is not really motivated to fight with me because I'm out of his league; but I promise you, it's going to be a war and a great fight."
