Jake Ellenberger took this fight on short notice and finished Sean Pierson in short order with a brutal TKO at 2:42 of the first round of their UFC 129 welterweight fight.

Ellenberger dropped Pierson with a left-right combination that sent Pierson falling then chased him to the ground for the coups de grace.

Ellenberger landed a short right to kick things off. Soon thereafter he caught Pierson with a hard left. Ellenberger then shot for a double leg that put Pierson down, but the Canadian quickly got back to his feet. Ellenberger then fired with a counter left hook followed by a lethal right to the jaw that droped Pierson. He followed him down for some brutal ground and pound to end it.

Ellenberger came into the fight with a 3-1 UFC record. In his last fight, he took a split decision over Carlos Eduardo Rocha at UFC 126.

The Canadian Pierson debuted in the UFC at UFC 124 in Montreal, defeating Matt Riddle by unanimous decision.
