Bellator 39 just ended and Patricky Freire delivered one of the most memorable highlights of the night as he knocked out the veteran in Toby Imada. The victory advances "Pitbull" to the lightweight tournament final. Here is how Leland Roling described the entire fight:
Round 1: Freire starts the action with a quick leg kick, and another speedy outside leg kick that puts Imada off balance. Attempts a head kick, but it's blocked by Imada. Another leg kick, and Imada tries to counter... he eats a stiff right to the chin. Freire is mixing up his leg kicks and punches nicely, damaging the leg of Imada at will. Imada is attempting to throw punches over Freire's defenses as he kicks, but he's been unsuccessful in this round. Wow... after some more quick one-two's from Freire, he launches into the air and lands an incredible flying knee. Imada is wobbling on his feet, as if he's a zombie. He's clearly out on his feet, and he falls to the floor as Freire attacks. The fight is over. Patricky Freire def. Toby Imada via KO (2:53) of Round 1.
