#1 Georges St. Pierre will defend his title this Saturday at UFC 129 against #3 Jake Shields. Any hope of a super fight with Anderson Silva requires a GSP victory here.

The following numbered UFC, UFC 130, will feature a clash of styles when #4 Thiago Alves takes on the criminally underrated #23 Rick Story.

#8 Carlos Condit will take a step up in competition from Dan Hardy at UFC 132 where he's slated to do battle with #18 Dong Hyun Kim.

It was reported this morning that #9 Diego Sanchez will finally get to face #12 Matt Hughes in a fight he's wanted for years now.

Star-divide

Based on the premise that all MMA rankings are subjective but that it’s still useful and informative to know who the online MMA community as a whole ranks as the best fighters in MMA, we collect and average the rankings of the top MMA websites to produce our consensus rankings. We compile the top MMA rankings from each of our sources and award 25 points for a first place ranking, 16 for a 10th place ranking, 1 for a 25th place ranking. A formula is used to "normalize" the data so all fighters are awarded points from those lists that do not include a full 25 fighters. This formula ensures that each ranking site awards the same number of total points regardless of how many fighters they choose to rank. Each fighter’s total is divided by the number of possible points to determine their standing in the Consensus Rankings.

Looks about right to me.
Oh man I wants a fight with BJ and NIck Diaz. Who’s with me?

Those two would put on an epic epic fight. Oh man I’m salivating.

Both of those fights would be great.

Changes to the panel create movement especially near the bottom of the rankings.

I like that Daley lost and his overall ranking doesn't change.

I can’t help but notice that the individual panelists rankings reflect his loss, but subo’s rankings are missing. Without his complete exclusion of Daley from a top 25 list (preventing him form even getting the 5.7 normalized points for being excluded from a top 10 list) it levels out and accurately reflects the rankings. If subo were to replace MMA Playground, who have Daley unranked in a top 10 list, then Daley’s point total would drop

Please correct me if this analysis is incorrect.

Also, you don't necessarily drop for losing a fight you were supposed to lose.

10X more excited to see Diaz/GSP after the Daley fight. Sucks that the UFC won’t bring any SF fighters over. If Condit beat Kim have Condit/Diaz for the next WW title shot..

What about Miller? That sets precedent for future transfers or cross – overs.

the name of the game is contracts

As more of the strikeforce contracts run out, we’re going to see more and more cross-overs

His contract was up.

He was a free agent, his last fight was in DREAM.

Dana is meeting with Diaz after the ppv Saturday to discuss what can be done to “make him happy”

Read into that what you will, my bet is he’s heading over to jump in with the big boys
