The Ultimate Fighter 13: Team Lesnar vs. Team dos Santos Live Discussion (Episode 5)
Join Bloody Elbow on Wednesday nights to discuss the latest episode of the Ultimate Fighter 13, featuring former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and rising star Junior dos Santos.
Well, judging by the traffic in the comment section, no one really cares about this season of the Ultimate Fighter. Plus, I missed the Sport Show with Norm MacDonald last night, so I can't even recap the sure hilarity from yesterday.
My lease at my current place is up at the end of the month, and I moved a bunch of my stuff in to my new place. Moving has to be one of the worst things ever (in rich, white, industrialized nations). Especially trying to maneuver things like box springs through stairways. You shove and grunt and get frustrated with your partner for not moving his side of it the three inches you request and then you put it down and curse your life and contemplate suicide.
It's not even rewarding when you finish, either. You have all your stuff at your new place, and then you have to deal with unpacking it and reorganizing it.
At least UFC 129 is coming up this weekend, right?
* * *
Also, that preview image for the show up there? What the hell is up with "PLUS, AN INJURY THREATENS A CAREER"? Good job, Spike TV, on exploiting a serious injury in the name of ratings!
Click here for a sneak peek of tonight's episode.

Moving sucks however
Try unpacking with three pet ferrets, a trio of kittens and a couple of malamutes wrecking shit throughout the day. That was the worst kind of hell for example the ferrets kept biting the removal men.

I totally forgot this is on tonight. I’ve fallen asleep the past two episodes.

I’ve moved about twenty people over the last year (mostly for beer and food) but the worst thing ever was carrying my grandmother’s 1950s era bed frame up a flight of stairs and down a hallway with my idiot uncle with the hurt back. In 90+ degree heat.
The thing was an inch and a half of particle board and built to hold a queen bed. Easily over 230 pounds and unable to be broken apart into smaller pieces. I wish I’d been intelligent enough to say “Granny, you’re getting a new bed frame”, before touching it.
Tips for dealing with women while moving: give them jobs that keep them unpacking, carefully monitor their water and food intake (as they’ll try and keep up with you to feel like they’re helpfully contributing) and if they flip out at you for bizarro reasons, nod and say “Ok”. This isn’t a day to fight. It’s a day to get the job done.

Agreed
Also keep pets locked in an empty room the last thing you need is an introduction to ferret legging while carrying a large amount of glassware.

Why this season sucks
1. no fighters that even APPEAR on the UFC level
2. the real Brock has just about the personality I thought he would, which is none
3. JDS, the only good part about the show, speaks terrible english
U C O N N Huskies

no fighters that even APPEAR on the UFC level
That is how most TUF seasons are. Outside of the old seasons which were full of already UFC level-woulda been UFC anyway types like Joe Daddy, Forrest, Diego etc and a few wrestler prospects over the years that would have made it likely anyway the bulk of TUF has always been below the UFC level. What else is new?

Lennys a douche he lost and he cant deal with it. He was bitching Brock brought in Matt freaking Hughes to help them out

i had no clue but i guessed the same as him just cause I watched Back to the Future recently and one of the lines was like “Ronald Reagan? the actor?!”
Repo'ing seems like such a dangerous job.
Like people get PISSED when you try to take their cars. Not that I blame them, but it gets alittle out of hand sometimes. I wonder if anyone has ever died..

I couldn't tell if that was a real family,
or a TV family. That’s what makes the sense of danger so hard to judge. I can’t tell if these dudes are really about to get jumped or its just…fakeee.

Pffff
GSP is gonna repo Jake Sheilds’ face with his fists.
Hahaha, but in all seriousness it should either be a back and forth fight. Or a one sided beat down a-la classic GSP.
by OptimusPiss on Apr 27, 2011 10:55 PM EDT up reply actions
I just see a one-sided beatdown.
Jake Shields is not a good stand up fighter and that’s where the fight is gonna be dictated at. Unless he became a better wrestler than Koscheck over night.

Dull and annoying
Is it because the fights are so poor that the producers spend more time in the house this episode? The “spy in the house” stuff was a baffling combination of boring and annoying. Boring because no one is witty or even vulgar in a fun way. Not one of the boyz has a capacity for speech beyond grunts of “dood”.
I don’t think spying would help these guys. They seem to panic in the ring. They don’t listen to their coaches and they like to take long lay-overs on the fence.
Worse coach – Brock or Rampage? Brock in some ways. QRP doesn’t have a lot of knowledge to transmit so he lays back and tries to do self-promotion. Brock probably have a lot to teach but is so apathetic he can’t even manage to motivate beyond the cliched high-school varsity coach insult.
JDS… I like him a lot… but he’s a little touchy-feelie… perhaps it’s a Brazilian thing.

GOVERNMENT SQUID HOAX !!
The super-rich elite secretly own and operate the world through the mechanisms of governments, media, corporations, institutions and religion. They may be planning a SQUID ALIEN HOAX. I’m talking gigantic, highly-intelligent, bioluminescent, UFO flying mother fucking squid. The elite will pull ancient artifacts out of the ground and have all kinds of bs evidence. Tell somebody in whatever form or fashion you choose – DO NOT BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT OR THE SQUID OR THE TV OR THE SCIENTISTS – IT’S A TRAP – check my vids on youtube – GOVERNMENT SQUID HOAX
I saw 300+ comments and assumed this was a great episode
In fact it was terrible and 85% of the comments weren’t about TUF.
That kid Mick was horrid. So tentative, couldn’t defend strikes, got bullied in the clinch, couldn’t set up his telegraphed shots and ran from punches. He looked afraid before fight day, you could tell there was fear in his heart.
