Can Brad Pickett advance?
Pickett and Fabiano advanced from the opening round, despite Ivan Manjivar giving a game effort against Fabiano. Like their real life counterparts, even fantasy MMA fans are less interested in the little guys - they garnered far fewer votes than the big boys.
1. Dominick Cruz vs. 4. Wagnney Fabiano
My Take: Cruz has never really fought a Jiu Jitsu player like Fabiano. But then again, has anyone really fought someone like the hard-to-hit Cruz before stepping in the cage with him? Cruz will shudder, shake, and drive purists nuts with his footwork. He'll also win this one handily.
2. Takeya Mizugaki vs. 3. Brad Pickett
My Take: Mizugaki made a big impression taking Miguel Torres the distance at WEC 40 in 2009. It was a great performance, but perhaps a bit deceptive. It was the night of a lifetime for Mizugaki. Frankly, he's just not that good. Pickett should have what it takes to give Europe a much needed win.
