Dennis Hallman vs. Brian Ebersole Planned for UFC 133
Two of the most experienced welterweights in the sport will collide in Philadelphia when Dennis Hallman meets Brian Ebersole at UFC 133. MMA Junkie reported the booking today:
Sources close to the event today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that the welterweights have verbally agreed to meet with contracts on the way.
With over 100 fights worth of combined experience, it's actually surprising that Ebersole and Hallman haven't squared off before, but they'll get their chance in August. And with both veterans employing solid all-around skill sets, the match-up should prove to be intriguing.
Brian "Bad Boy" Ebersole (47-14-1)
Win Chris Lytle (unanimous decision) - UFC 127
Win Hamish Robertson (TKO) - Van Diemen's Caged Mayhem
Win Carlos Newton (unanimous decision) - Impact FC 1
Dennis "Superman" Hallman (50-13-2)
Win Karo Parisyan (TKO) - UFC 123
Win Ben Saunders (unanimous decision) - UFC 117
Loss John Howard (KO) - TUF 10 Finale

I've got to hand it to Ebersole
His whole persona and shtick from the Lytle fight, as zany and bizarre as it was, made it a very memorable affair. Add to it that he has legit skills, and I think I may actually be an Ebersole fan.
Seemed like an easy fight for Lytle too

Wasn't Ebersole the guy who was indefinitely suspended by the CSAC because he used a cartwheel guard pass
And they said he must be working a fake fight which is why he was exiled to Australia in order to keep fighting? Is that the same guy?

One and the same

I wonder what design he will have into his chest hair this time?
A peace sign?
A tree?
A skull?
A sword?

The vase/face profile optical illusion.
It will confound and distract Hallman who will try to figure out if he’s seeing foreground or background, and while staring get KO’d
lol....it might take some work but I vote for this illusion instead
Is that a beautiful young woman, or a hideous old hag!!!???

Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

Haha, he'd need an artist with a razor for that one
And maybe more chest hair than even he can grow!
it would be pretty epic
If his chesthair resembled Brocks sworddick tattoo.

I like this matchup actually. I also think that relevance has a tendency to get overstated at times. Both these fighters are coming off wins, and both are around the same skill level and level on the UFC totem pole. It makes sense for these two to fight each other at this time.

I'm officially on the Ebersole bandwagon
Loved the way he came into the Lytle fight as the underdog and basically toyed with him…can’t wait to see this fight.
I don't always hope for draft picks, but when I do, I prefer Owen Marecic.

Yeah. Uhhh…..why do this fight? To build up a guy who isn’t very good to give away a meaningful win? I don’t get it. They are stay busy opposition for elite fighters and not much more.
I know very well why I watch fights. But this isn’t a fight I care to see in the UFC. If Dennis Hallman grinds out Ebersole on the mat for 3 excruciatingly boring rounds, I don’t see how that benefits anyone when they should just be put in with prospects and summarily dispatched back to second tier promoters.

At least he's not from Huntington Beach

Thought Ebersole should get Hardy, but this isn't a terrible fight.
