Tickets go on sale this week for UFC Live, Sunday, June 26 at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh - featuring Nate Marquardt vs. Anthony Johnson and Cheick Kongo vs. Pat Barry. UFC Fight Club presale starts Thursday, April 21 at 10 a.m. ET.
Nate Marquardt will make his planned drop to welterweight at UFC on Versus 4 when he faces Anthony Johnson. Although he's coming off a win over Dan Miller in his last middleweight fight, Marquardt recently announced his plans to make the cut to 170, and had competed as light as 155 lbs very early in his career. Johnson, meanwhile, is riding his dominant victory over Dan Hardy at UFN 24.
Nate Marquardt - "I feel like I can be the best fighter at 170. In my last fight (at middleweight), I felt really great and I noticed that I was lighter. So I think my body might be better suited for this weight class. Anthony Johnson is a good striker and he’s a former junior college national wrestling champion. I have a lot of respect for him in that regard. I just know that my skills are better in each area and I plan on coming out on top."
Anthony Johnson - "This is definitely the biggest fight of my career and it’s going to be against the toughest guy I’ve ever fought. At first, I was really surprised to hear that Nate was heading to welterweight. But it only adds fuel to the fire in this weight class. He is a great opponent with a lot of experience and I need to be sharper than I’ve ever been for this fight."
