I don't know if you guys realized, but MMA is the basically the closest thing to a bloodsport in mainstream media. It doesn't matter that football has more serious injuries, or that there are fights in hockey. MMA is the one sport where sitting on your opponents chest while raining hell on his face (as long as they aren't 12-6 elbows) is not only acceptable, but rewarded.
Oh my God, Michael Bisping conducts himself in an unsportsmanlike manner, BAN HIM FROM THE PAY PER VIEWS. A professional athlete, beloved republican Chael Sonnen is not only popped for abuse of banned substances but is a crooked business man? WE MUSN'T ASSOCIATE HIS MARKETABLE ASS WITH THE UFC BRAND.
That was sarcasm
You know what's really bad for the sport? Not taking advantage of what huge draws these guys could be after 12 weeks on primetime TV. If you think that one day MMA is going to be respected like the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL you're insane. It's never going to be an equal to them.
The only people who are going to make a stink about putting two guys with bad reputations on the reality show are already whining about what a "barbaric" and "inhumane" sport this is. Don't act like they're right. (They're not.)
