Nick Diaz vs. Fernando Vargas: Diaz Considers Boxing Future
Diaz’s manager Cesar Gracie tells "Inside MMA" that Diaz has signed a boxing contract to fight Fernando Vargas later this year. The contract is awaiting Vargas’s signature, but Gracie says that unless Dana White offers Diaz a fight with Anderson Silva, Nick’s next fight will definitely be in boxing.
Nick Diaz - "(Strikeforce) doesn't have anybody else for me to fight right now, I'm better than all these guys they have. The guys they have ranked above me, I'm sure they don't want to fight me. I don't see much of a future in this sport for me. I honestly don't, especially if there's not a whole (lot) of money going on."

He's being realistic.
I REALLY enjoy watching Diaz fight, but I think he knows he wouldn’t be able to handle the UFC’s wrestlers at 170. GSP, Kos, Fitch would certainly take him. I think Condit, Rumble, Marquardt, and Hardy probably would as well. The timing of the whole things is suspicious to me. He talks about no competition, and when it looks like there could be some on the horizon – he bails.
I agree 100%, Nick didnt want any of mayhem or hieron. I’d be seriously surprised if this vargas money is even close to what he got for fighting Paul Daley. This is just negotiations gone awry.
