Jorge Rivera vs. Alessio Sakara On Tap for UFC 133
In the first bout announced for UFC 133, rumored to take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on August 6th, middleweights Jorge Rivera and Alessio Sakara will finally collide after two previous attempts to book the matchup (at UFC 118 and UFC 122) fell through due to assorted injuries and illnesses. Both men are looking for redemption after losses in their last bouts, with Rivera getting blitzed by Michael Bisping in a TKO loss at UFC 127, in February. and Sakara getting out-wrestled by blue-chip prospect, Chris Weidman at UFC on Versus 3 in March. The UFC announced the booking on their website today, but the event date and location have not yet been made official:
"Better late than never, verbal agreements are in for what should be an action-packed match between Alessio Sakara and Jorge Rivera at UFC 133," said UFC president Dana White today.

Loss Michael Bisping - TKO (Punches) UFC 127
Win Nate Quarry - TKO (Punches) UFC FN 21
Win Rob Kimmons - TKO (Punches) UFC 104
Alessio "Legionarius" Sakara (15-8)
Loss Chris Weidman - Decision (Unanimous) UFC Versus 3
Win James Irvin - TKO (Punch) UFC Versus 1

This has sleeper FOTN candidate written all over it.

Anyone who listened to MMANation the other day, and heard Breen & Luke talk about how MMA fans tend to deride fighters who aren’t championship caliber. Why is this? These guys are obviously good fighters, not great, but good at what they do, and they should put on a good show.
Is that not enough for you? Does every single fight have to be a title eliminator for you to be interested? Serious question here.

So when will one of these guys pull out?
I got Sakara in July due to knee injury.

What a turgid matchup that would have still been irrelevant in 2005.
Sean Salmon's Flying Crane Kick.
How exactly is this matchup turgid?
It’s a fun fight IMO.

In the 2nd round. After illegal knee. And not looking like the superior man in the first, when he was ~1.3 favourite. That’s a blitz??
Watch the above gif,
and tell me that’s not a blitzing.
The illegal knee excuse is bullshit. Bisping was docked a point, and Rivera made the conscious decision to keep fighting.
