Around SBN: Ryder Hesjedal Wins Giro d'Italia

Bewsh

After losing Matt Lindland and Thales Leites as potential opponents, Polish standout Mamed Khalidov will be hoping that the third time's a charm with James "The Sandman" Irvin now being penciled in to face him in the main event of KSW 15 on March 19th in Warsaw, according to Chris Nelson at Sherdog.

It was recently revealed that Irvin tested positive for steroids following a December fight, leading to the cancellation of his upcoming Shark Fights bout against Houston Alexander. There's no word yet about potential penalties from the CSAC for the positive test.

Jesus, is Irvin cutting down to 185 for this?

I hope not. Either way, Khalidov takes it.

Agreed

Irvin hasn’t looked right since Anderson Silva.

It’s probably at 205. Khalidov is their current LHW champ.

The risk is not worth the reward for James.

Khalidov is a legit fighter, and, from what Irvin has shown in his recent fights, Khalidov should take it.

So Irvin is looking at a loss, as well as a likely suspension from CSAC, which will prevent him from fighting in many US states…

he’s probably taking it because he’ll be banned for a year or so. he’s in shape, so its his best chance to make money now.

He was busted for painkillers after the Anderson Silva fight a few year back. This time it was steroids.

Irvin needs to get his shit together

He’s going down a road others have traveled and paid the price for. Guys like Karo, Kerr, etc, doing too many painkillers, roids, etc. It all turns into a downward spiral and this looks like the same kind of thing.
