In case there was any doubt about Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann's fight at UFC on Versus 3 last week being an absolute war, the The Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Authority has cleared up any doubts. It was obvious from the way Martin Kampmann shook his right hand after smashing Diego Sanchez' face. It was even more obvious just from looking at Diego's face.
Here's MMA Weekly with the official scoop:
Neither Sanchez nor Kampmann can fight until they get medical clearance. Sanchez must get clearance for possible damage to his left orbital, while Kampmann must get his right hand cleared.
Three other fighters also received precautionary suspensions after being knocked out at the KFC Yum! Center on Thursday night. Todd Brown, Thiago Tavares, and C.B. Dollaway all must wait at least 60 days before they are allowed to fight again.
Weekly also reports that the Kentucky authorities conducted zero drug testing for the event but that the UFC conducted independent drug tests on Sanchez, Kampmann and four other randomly selected fighters.
