Junior dos Santos Looking to Knock Out Brock Lesnar at UFC 131 (Video)
UFC heavyweight contender Junior dos Santos missed out on a promised title shot when champ Cain Velasquez underwent surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff after UFC 121. Dos Santos' consolation prize is a season coaching The Ultimate Fighter opposite Brock Lesnar. The two will then pair off at UFC 131 in a fight to determine who will be the first to challenge the returning Velasquez. Dos Santos spoke to Sherdog.com:
"I'm very excited to fight against Brock Lesnar. I want to fight for the title but (Cain) Velasquez got hurt and he can't fight now so I came to coach here on TUF. I'm happy for this and the fight against Brock Lesnar is going to prove I'm the number one contender for the title shot. I will try my best and use my boxing (skills). I'm looking for one more knockout."

Maybe it is just the camera angle, but it looks like Brock Lesnar’s shoulder tattoo is moving slowly toward his back.

Maybe not KO, but I can certainly see a TKO.

Brock is a man
He can be knocked out. And dos Santos is perfectly capable of sparking dudes completely out. Not that it matters, I’m sure he means KO/TKO.
Well, he couldn’t KO Cro Cop, couldn’t KO Nelson, both guys who have been KO’d on multiple occasions. I’m not questioning JDS’s power, but you know, I’m not sure if he’s able to outright KO Brock, who’s never been KO’d himself.
could you show the rest of us
what evidence you have for your claim that Nelson has been “KO’d on multiple occasions”?
you are basically just making that BS up.
please check your facts before you post nonsense
ONE time by Arlovski does not equal “multiple occasions”
Fine. My point still stands though… Nelson has been KO’d by one punch before, and JDS couldn’t do it over 15 minutes and hitting him with his best shot.
And funny how you’re not addressing the Cro Cop fight… he also gave Cro Cop all he had in that fight, didn’t appear to stun him, not that I remember anyways.
Let’s see if JDS has enough power to KO Brock, but I doubt it. I doubt anyone has, really.
Anyone, absolutely anyone
can be KTFO by a hard shot right on the proverbial button.

JDS flash KO’d Werdum, who had never been finished before or since. Nelson used his defense to protect himself against a flash KO (at the expense of being open to receive damage up the middle) and had only been KO’d once before.
Any of the higher level HW strikers could knock out Lesnar (or anyone else) with a shot right on the button or to the temple – just because it hasn’t happened yet does not in any way mean in never will.

Of course
You asked what my comment before had to do with the general discussion so I expounded on it.

why should i address the cro cop fight?
the issue i had is with this comment: “both guys who have been KO’d on multiple occasions.”
that just was not true AT ALL for nelson
Can’t seem to watch the clip, all I get are sensational ‘quit smoking’ ads.

LOL. Ya.
And KOs plenty. Though dos Santos couldn’t KO Roy who was just walking into punches.

Roy has a granite chin. His Arlovski KO (which never should have gotten to that point), aside, he can take Heavyweight punches unlike anyone in the division.

Roy employed a defense throughout that fight that minimalized his chances of getting seriously rocked. It exposed him to the vicious knees and uppercuts, but limited the chances of getting caught across the chin or temple.
Conducting an experiment on knocking people out in particular ways would be unethical.
well all people can be knocked out...
but brock hasn’t. he may have got the tweety bird effect from carwin and velasquez but he wasn’t knocked out or even close.
i just feel like dos santos could get tunnel vision. if he doesn’t knock lesnar out in the first few minutes than it is going to the ground. i hope he dusted of his jiu-jitsu.

I want Brock to win this so bad but I am not gonna get my hopes up. One of you BElitists have to bring the sign. The fight is the day after my birthday and I’ll be damned if the universe poops on my b-day. Brock needs the sign to be there. We ALL need the sign to be there.

No.
It was Junior Dos Santos fault.

Well since my birthday is the day after a Lesnar fight, my birthday might be the day where he is totally quitting mixed martial arts for reals, bro. Just like after his other 2 losses. That would be the biggest thing eve, ever, ever.

What if I bring a giant JDS sign?
And no offense to your birthday, but since it’s the day before, technically all Brock has to win is the weigh-in for the universe to deliver for you.

I can't help feeling this turn of events is the best thing that JDS could have had happen
Cain hurts shoulder… JDS gets to fight the UFC’s biggest draw AND coach TUF, gaining huge opportunity to boost his profile… then he’ll fight a ring-rusted, returning-from-injury champ and have a better chance to win than if Cain had been fresh off an uninjured win against Brock.
I like JDS’s chances against Brock, he is a slight favorite on the betting (thought it would be more actually)… unless Brock does some serious training on reacting/countering punches with takedowns instead of breakdancing. Or Brock has to score and early takedown and be effective on the ground, not let JDS bounce back up like Cain did. It could go either way, but I think JDS is somewhat advantaged.
