Video: Brock Lesnar on ESPN First Take
Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar joins ESPN First Take to talk about his new book "Death Clutch", coaching 7 young fighters on TUF 13 and fighting Junior dos Santos at UFC 131 on June 11th. The new season of The Ultimate Fighter will debut on Spike TV tonight at 9 p.m. ET:
"(Junior dos Santos) and I had very little interaction. Their training sessions were separate from ours. But I did have a chance to face him opposite the Octagon. It was a confidence builder for me. I could see in Junior that he's not the man that can stop me on June 11th. Junior is a good guy, respectable guy, I have nothing against him. He's in my way for my next title shot and that's business for me."

i got a feeling
this is going to be a boring TUF…. little interaction, mutual respect, no teasing, no confrontations, no broken doors… etc
Maybe they’ll focus on training and illustrate the progress and improvement of the fighters. e.g. 30 second snippet of a fighter working a heavy bag at the beginning of the series contrasted with 30 second snippet toward the end of the series. That other BS is childish nonsense.

Anyone else think they use prop doors for the shoot? I’ve never tried to rip a door myself, but I can’t believe a regular 60 dollar Home Depot door would just rip like cardboard no matter how strong you are.
"an excellent example of why most MMA "journalism" is a joke. Pseudonyms like "toxic" and shitty writing like that dopey article"--- Joe Rogan.
They're definitely flimsy.
A normal door is solid wood, as in furnished from a single piece of material. You can tell by the way they tear that they’re compressing shavings, basically live a pencil or plywood.
I have destroyed some cheap ass apartment doors in a fit of rage.
And I am not a big guy by any means. Those are the $30 dollar doors instead of the $60 ones. They probably have a container full of doors behind the gym.

Where the hell is the resident BExpert on carpentry? We have them for law, accounting, graphic design, web design, fuckin’ medical professionals, but nobody with home renovation experience?

I caught him for a couple minutes on sportsnation while flipping through channels late at night and i had to turn it off. They had to choose who was the badder man, Dos Santos or him and they all chose him and wouldnt stop talking about how good he was.
I dont understand this disconnect between mainstream media and mma media when it comes to Brock Lesnar. Its the same thing as the Cain fight. Mainstream media just dont understand.
Brock is the new King Kong
I hate when the interviewer keeps saying, “Derpa derp I’m so scared of you!” in his phoniest announcer voice. Jimmy Fallon did that shit too. It’s just pathetic.
Brian Urlacher isn’t exactly giving his opponents an oil massage on the football field but people who interview him don’t feel the need to pretend piss in their pants. Brock and his colleagues are professional athletes, not caged animals. Interviews like this are bullshit until they start treating these guys like athletes.

visual appeal
he’s a huge dude – and right there in front of him. also they know nothing about professional MMA (or amateur for that matter), so it’s a simple pick.

As an entertainer and a draw
Brock is worth his weight in gold. He’s a good public speaker and looks like a behemoth.
This entertains people.. Pity JDS’s in-ring skills do not translate to media attention..
they will if he becomes fluent in english
hes working on it though which is certainly a good thing

This whole JDS "is not the man to beat me"
line is kind of chapping my ass. I wonder if he’s noticed what happens to that friendly smile after JDS steps in the cage.
Tatum: I think he's a good man. I like him. I got nothing against him, but I'm definitely gonna make orphans of his children.
He used the exact same quote about Cain…Brock is Brock, and I like him, but until he is comfortable standing, or realizes that he needs to avoid trading with heavyweights, I’ll be betting against him vs. top 10 opponents
Let’s face it; is there anyone in the UFC that’s comfortable standing with Carwin, Cain and JDS? You talk as though Brock is a bum who can’t fight when the reality is that Brock dominates anyone else than those three in the UFC HW division, no questions about it.

What else should he say?
“This guy is gonna crush my ass like a beer can. Vancouver? Screw that, I’m on a plane to Mexico where it’s safer.”
At least he’s being respectful about it. In other interviews he’s been very honest about how anyone can get beat in MMA, even him.

I guess
I’ve actually been enjoying the Brock media tour. I just find that phrasing a little funny, like he’s seen something in JDS that makes him too weak to take on the mighty Brock Lesnar. But compared to the Corona-burrito comments from the last go-round this is pretty tame.

i rly didnt like brock
because of all mir incident and his shitty attitude but hes building up a nice, humble character and i like it. hes not playing carwin (before lesnar fight) but he still keeps his characteristic and mixes up with some nice, witty, and humble attitude

I think Brock is good for the sport
Off the top of my head I can’t picture a lot of guys from the UFC who could talk football or other team sports from MMA. It lends mass appeal to a guy that already has mass appeal and makes him a more likely candidate to be on ESPN.
