Shane Roller made his UFC debut count by knocking out Thiago Tavares in 1:28 of the second round at UFC on Versus 3.
To do it, he had to survive a scary first round when Tavares stunned him on the feet and got a take down.
Roller came into the fight fresh off beating Jamie Varner at WEC 53. He came into that fight off a loss to the last WEC champ Anthony Pettis at WEC 50.
Tavares entered the fight off two wins and a draw and an overall 5-4 UFC record. He could be in danger of being cut due to the overcrowded nature of the division.
