Is it just me or is this card a little top heavy?
And is this Kenny’ debut?

To your second question, yes
And to your first, it’s a Lesnar card, they tend to be thin in “name value” below the main and co-main

In my opinion there is only 3 options.Cheick Kongo, Ben Rothwell, or Big Nog(but I think they are saving Nog for Rio).
Really those are the only options unless you want to try and shoot Mitrione or Barry(or someone in that category) up the ladder.
I'd love to see a Barry fight
I think Carwin’s rudimentary striking could very well be exposed
The only good bug is a dead bug!
Really?
Aside from the leg kicks, Barry struggled agaisnt Beltran

I’d actually favor Carwin in the fight, I just think we’d see how dependent he is on landing the “one big blow”
The only good bug is a dead bug!
I think his boxing is tight enough that he could get barry into the clinch with his back on the cage. That’s a good spot for Carwin to work for that “one big blow”

the clinch is money for Carwin
he’d have to wade through leg kicks, though
The only good bug is a dead bug!
Agreed
It would definitely be a fun bit of match making
Conducting an experiment on knocking people out in particular ways would be unethical.
i dont think Barry will have much of a chance

If that’s so, this is bad news for Strikeforce. TBA would sometimes fight three or even four times per card. They need to tighten up their contracts.

Brock’s head on Mr. Burn’s body while he’s doing the “exxxxcellent” thing with his fingers…cuz that would be the bee’s knees right about now.
Brock would be wise
to put on that extra weight he had for UFC 100. I feel like he hasnt looked nearly as powerful as he used. Maybe his sickness sapped him of that extra gear that allowed him to manhandle folks. But I feel the pre illness 285 lb Brock is better than the Ruffage eating 264lb Brock.
I'll take Carwin vs Kongo or Rothwell.
It SHOULD be a W for Carwin, and that’ll get him right back into the top tier mix of JDS, Cain & Brock. Carwin deserves a fast track to a title considering how close he came the first time.
Carwin vs. Congo
Just to see how quickly Kongo goes for his gonads. And to then see Kongo brutalized.

brock lesnar
i remember going into the cain fight when i said “gee, i don’t know guys, he looked kind of rocky against carwin” there were plenty of negative comments. i remember how hard snowded got flamed when he said that lesnar failed to impress against carwin. now all of a sudden he’s not even top ten any more. you’re only as good as your last fight.
where is black lesnar when you need him? we need some brock fanboys in here to balance things out.
by the way – i rank lesnar maybe between 4-6 in the world in heavyweight, off the top of my head, and don’t love his chances in this one, but don’t hate them either.

"Nothing's ever what it seems. And even if it is, ends justify means." -Matt Good
Overeem might be the best HW in the sport, but that doesn’t mean squat when it comes to rankings. He hasn’t beaten anyone worth a damn since moving up. His only ranked win came against Brett Rogers, who was in the top 10 for all of five minutes because Andrei Arlovski is incapable of circling out of danger.
Sure, but it was 5 years ago when he was still a LHW

oh, no one's saying that i guess
but statements like “brock can’t take a punch” or “brock has no stand up” kind of raise my ire a bit. brock took a lot of punches from carwin and hung on to win that fight, although the first round was pretty goddamn ugly and raised some question marks. he also smoked couture and herring on the feet, which isn’t all that shabby.
i find it intersting but not surprising that fedor isn’t in your top five. not saying he’s in mine. i really have no idea where to rank the SF heavyweights right now. looking forward to seeing overeem fight werdum and then teh winner of that take on a. silva.
Regarding Brock standup
I don’t think people are accurate when they blame his ability to “take punches”. I think his chin is fine. It’s his defense that is poor. In the Carwin bout, he ducked his head and took his eyes of Carwin anticipating a counter, but it opened him up for a huge uppercut. Against Cain, he did the same thing, took his eyes off Cain and ate a brutal knee to start the barrage.
So it’s not Brock’s chin, it’s his poor technique defensively. Cuz everyone knows it’s the punches you DONT see that hurt the most. And Brock got hit with big power shots he did see coming in both the Carwin and Cain bouts that lead to him getting pounded on. Every other time Brock saw the punches, he took them fine from everyone.
As for Fedor, he just hasnt had an impressive HW win in a long time. And has no lost 2 in a row. Not top 5 for me.
Best year of UFC cards ever?
