am i the only one who thinks brocks gonna win?

i think he fitch’s JDS for the first two rounds and gets the finish in the 3rd, i just think JDS struggles underneath brock’s weight and takedowns

agreed. Lesnar got Cain down which I imagine is quite difficult to do to a former NCAA Division I dude. JDS won’t be standing much.

by AHutch on Mar 28, 2011 9:13 PM EDT up reply actions

Brock is not Fitch and I say in MMA Fitch is probably the superior wrestler. When you’re as scared to get hit as Brock is it takes you out of your game. And honestly if he does get Cigano down I seriously doubt he manages to hold him there for 3 rounds. JDS is not Mir, he doesn’t try to lay down. This is going to be the same fight as Brock vs Velasquez.

by wilberdp on Mar 28, 2011 9:17 PM EDT up reply actions

And I have to say it.. goddamn is Brock ugly.

by wilberdp on Mar 28, 2011 9:19 PM EDT up reply actions

It's the scar man

and that ugly damn green jersey

JDS is not Mir, he doesn’t try to lay down

How do you know this? When have you ever seen him fight off his back?

by Trysdor on Mar 28, 2011 9:41 PM EDT up reply actions

Does that help your argument?

by wilberdp on Mar 28, 2011 9:59 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm not making an argument

I’m just saying that it’s impossible to know that JDS doesn’t have Mir-like game off his back. We have no idea what he looks like off his back.

by Trysdor on Mar 28, 2011 10:07 PM EDT up reply actions

My point was he doesn’t settle for laying down like Mir. He’s more likely to defend the takedown and try to get back to his feet. And since we haven’t ever seen him down it is fair to say he is pretty good on that front and I think pretty good takedown defense with his boxing skills is enough to send Brock home to momma.

by wilberdp on Mar 28, 2011 10:13 PM EDT up reply actions

Your logic is flawed

How can you say he is good off his back when he hasn’t even been to the ground yet and how can you say he has good take down defense when he hasn’t even faced any solid wrestlers, let alone one with Brock’s credentials.

by WARistotle on Mar 29, 2011 8:34 AM EDT up reply actions

idk about that

it all depends on what type of ground game JDS has, brocks taken down everyone hes ever fought before and i think his overwhelming size and strength advantage will be too much

I wouldn’t doubt it. I have to rewatch the fight, but did JDS gas at all from punching Roy Nelson in the head for three rounds? In the picture of the fight in my mind, I remember him being winded. He’ll expel more energy underneath Brock than he will from striking. Brock has to get him down.

JDS has this

Brock simply can’t take a hit, and that will make all of the difference.

Let the fighters fight, let the referees ref, but dear God, don't let the judges judge.

by halitosis on Mar 28, 2011 9:29 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

Let's not forget

Brock took down Cain first before Cain threw off a punch. Brock might just take JDS down and then end it. I won’t call it, but I think Brock has the advantage in the fight. It’s almost a given lately… you need have good wrestling to be effective in the standup against the elite of the division. Else you will just get taken down and decision’d or pounded out.

You cannot walk if you fear to crush the ant in your wake.

Brock the coach--what a joke.

Wrestling coach, maybe. MMA coach, c’mon! He is a one dimensional fighter albeit a scary opponent. His stand up is a joke. His takedown defense is a joke. Submissions? Are u kidding me? What could he possibly teach his “students”.

by Pandanus on Mar 28, 2011 11:47 PM EDT up reply actions

really?

He is a scary opponent…but w/ the limited experience he does have he managed to defeat a legend in the sport, win the title from said legend, defend the title twice which is more than anyone @ 205 has been able to do in the past 3 yrs, and lost the title to a potential prodigy of the sport!

People need to finally realize that this dude is INEXPERIENCED…yet he is a cash cow! That’s the only reason why he is on TUF. Lesnar + TUF = $$$$$$$$. Who the fuck cares what he has to teach, that’s his coaching staffs job.

by BigPerm82 on Mar 29, 2011 12:19 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

It's certainly possible I'm forgetting something

but when has Lesnar ever been taken down? You know, for you to call his TDD a joke?

by Trysdor on Mar 29, 2011 12:32 AM EDT up reply actions

Cain got him once.

This dude must be referring to when Randy got one of Brock’s legs off the ground that one time. What a joke of a comment.

Go back to Fedor's grundle, and tuck yourself in under the fleshy patch where his testacles used to be.

Why on Earth would you say that his takedown defense is a joke? That’s where I stopped critically thinking about your post. And if you think that the fighters on TUF are the ones doing the majority of the teaching, then you probably bet on Bruce Leroy on Saturday.

by John Danaher's Hair on Mar 29, 2011 1:02 AM EDT up reply actions

Are you trying to prove you can be dumber than him ? Great success.

actually...

he is a ultimate fighter coach. he is the face, just like everyone else who has coached onthe ultimate fighter.

no ultimate fighter knows every aspect 100%. all the coaches bring in people to help them in all the other aspects of MMA. NO coach is a complete fighter. they are ALL still learning.

by Roy r.l. on Mar 29, 2011 1:32 AM EDT up reply actions

His TDD is a joke?..surely his wrestling credentials would sat otherwise, even if it is within MMA. To call it a joke is somewhat OTT. As far as his subs go, Go and rewatch him submit Carwin. I would direct you to the Gracie breakdown but it’s gone from YouTube I imagine. Is he a BJJ whiz? No. But is he so clueless you can brand him a joke? Absolutly not.

Brock Lesnar is here and he’s training for his next shot at the title!

Well, technically he is. But that makes it sounds like he’s fighting for the title.

sucks.

He is the most annoying and unfunny guy I’ve ever heard. He shouts everything he says and he makes Jimmy Fallon actually seem funny.

What did I just witness? I know a 3rd guest on a late night program will get slim pickings in terms of talk time but that was like 3 minutes

I think Brock came off well even for the little amount of time he got

As far as taking someone from MMA and having them do a show with a host who knows nothing about the sport he was funny and drawing enough to captivate a casual fan base.
