Junior Dos Santos Overcomes Big Obstacle in Preparation for Title Shot
(video courtesy of UFC)
Noteworthy points:
1) Brazilian Portuguese may translate worse into English than any other language in the world. It may just be that those who get paid to do the translation need to sharpen their chops. Regardless of the reason, it just always looks and sounds like children who are just learning to speak. With as many as Brazilians as we have in the UFC, they may need to look into making an adjustment in that department. Maybe Ed Soares can just be on call 24-7 to pretend to translate what the fighters are saying and give us the answers we want to hear.
2) Paula Sack may be the best/worst name for a journalist, a woman, or a person....ever. Apparently, she isn't kidding. I looked into it (investigative reporting quota for the day is now filled).
3) Has Dana seen this? Does he really want his 240 pound investments hanging from rock cliffs where they could easily plummet to their messy demise(s)? I like a thrill as much as the next guy but it seems particularly foolish in this case.
4) If you're sitting at home/work saying to yourself: "It must be a slow MMA news day if he's having to write about Junior Dos Santos climbing a rock." Valid point. Hard to argue. Quick! Pull up the spreadsheet! Your wife/boss is coming!
Is it Friday yet? :)

was JDS on belay? Or bouldering 40 feet up?
morbidly curious, and I don’t want to bother with silverlight
I wonder if someone has open sores codec for replacing silverlight

He does appear to be on belay. Do you need Silverlight just to watch Youtube vids?

I'll take Eduardo
Shoguns manager/translater all day and twice on sundays over Ed Soares. He seems to really care that he not only gets the essentials correct, but he will hunt for just the RIGHT words to get the tone too.

It’s a Via Ferrata. It’s impressive but there is almost no risk, a sparring session is more dangerous. This one looks exhausting for a guy as big as Cigano though.
Well, anybody who knows me knows I'm no fan of dictionaries or reference books. They're elitist. Constantly telling us what is or isn't true. Or what did or didn't happen.
1) to be fair americans don´t do very well when they are trying to speak portuguese also ;) and don´t count on Ed Soares to do translations. I´m sure he is fluent in both languages, the problem is when his dirty little mind decides to completely change the statements and that happens a lot.
2) Ohhhh.. Paula Sack….
3) Climb that damn rock Cigano!! You can do it!!!

holy crap
I know nothing about rock climbing but I’m not sure that I would want my heavyweights doing that.
We are all one
Ha. I’m seriously enjoying all the spreadsheet talk. Bloodyelbow readers/posters have the market cornered on avoiding work in the office.
